My problem seems to be one with something that most people it either works for no problem or they haven't figured it out or whatever because i cannot find much on google in regards to using the Audio Gateway to forward phone calls from my V551 to my Laptop. The whole situation is kind of weird. When I first realized that the service was essentially like a Hands Free Link (such as ones in newer cars) i was quite excited to i tried it out. The phone forwards the call and the caller ID to the Computer just fine. I would click accept and could hear the person on the line, but could not communicate back. I finally figured out that for some reason my Mic wasn't working and after some fiddiling i just completely uninstalled my SigmaTel driver and replaced it with one freshly downloaded from dell. Magic, the computer now has sound input recogntion. So i try another call and they can hear my just fine (minus the [inherant?] lag -is that normal- but i cannot hear what they are saying. I no longer can hear the sounds my phone normally makes when i push a button or the person calling me. My audio device is set as my Sigma and i can hear any other sounds my computer plays (i.e. music or error chimes and what not) but, for the most part, no sound from my phone. i say for the most part because last night for about 10 seconds it worked correctly. So today, to be sure the issue was not with my phone i took a V3 and paired it and tried it and the same problem reared it head. Any ideas would be great. Should i completely remove audio drivers and try again. Or should i completely remove bluetooth drivers (fyi Dell TrueMobile 300 internal Bluetooth made by Widcomm). Oh and i can connect and use the other services on my phone OBEX and such and i can connect and use my X30 axim no problem too. Thanks in advance for and guidance.
Welcome to Geekzone... It could be that the Bluetooth software on the laptop is not being able to change the sound output device when the connection is made.
Have you tried manually changing the Sound applet in the Control Panel to use Bluetooth as the output device to see if it works?
thanks for the welcome, i had tried that a few times before but just for good measure i went and manually changed the default sound and voice play back to bluetooth audio. no such luck, I think last night when it worked for a moment the settings were set on Sigma. I'll keep fiddeling but any other ideas would be much appreciated
