I just bought the Belkin USB Adapter that comes with its own software. I also got software when I purchased the SE T610 that allows me to sync my phone with Outlook. I'm confused as to what software I should use to sync my contacts and calendar with. Should I use Belkin's or Sony Ericsson's? Or are they both different in their own right? All I want to do is simple syncing with 1 program. Thanks.

They're different software. Although Bluetooth itself will provide synchronisation between your phone and Outlook (see this article) Sony Ericsson's software offer a solution that allow you more control over what is synchronised (see this article.

The Sony Ericsson solution will use a serial connection - in this case the Bluetooth Serial conneciton. The pure Bluetooth solution will use a PIM synchronisation service native to Bluetooth.

It's you choice...

Thanks Mauricio for that good explanation. I have no problems using Belkin's software to connect and sync however when I was following your guide using XTNDConnect, and I clicked on Start, programs,Sony Ericsson, phone settings, I couldn't find that tab. (phone settings) I installed the sofware directly from Sony's site and ist's version 1.5.92, and your pics don't match up with anything I have on my compl. Is this a different version software you're showing on our article? Thanks again.

There are a few downloads on SE web site. Have you installed the complete one?

I've tried installing it from the CD that came with my SE t610 and downloaded it from the web site. On the web site it says it's the "Sony Ericsson Communication Suite 1.5.9". Is this the same that you're referring to? I notice that when I go to install the cd, it offers me a chance to purchase an "upgraded" version for $19.00, although you can sync with the free program as well. I'll try to do a little reading on this forum so I can figure out the difference and why mine doesn't match up with your tutorial pics.

No need to buy the full version. The one on the CD will synchronise just ok between your mobile phone and Outlook Contacts.

You shouldn't need to use the software on the CD for synchronisation at all - you can use the Bluetooth option alone - have you checked this article?
