As you can see I use a Dlink G604T modem I think its before Oct 07 so it does not support ADSL2+ and Im on Telecom ADSL2+ broadband up and down full speed and intending to take full advantage of this.

Can you recommend a few good or better modems/routers than the current one I can.

Here are the reasons why I like Dlink modem.
Its very simple for me to use when fiddling with the setting and interface.
Good wireless reception etc

Also whats the difference between Modem and Router they all do same thing why is it different names?

As for ADSL modem vs ADSL router- a very simple answer is that an ADSL modem is to connect one computer to the internet, while an ADSL router can connect two or more computers to the internet.
