Hi,

I am setting up Bluetooth for network access on iPaq 3870 with local PC (Belkin Bluetooth adapter).

I have followed all the advice from another Geekzone forum to set up Bluetooth Network Access.

The unit connects with desktop and is paired with desktop.

Then, when I go to Pocket IE and type in a web site, the IE gives me a message, "The page you are looking for cannot be found"

It does this for all web pages.

Has anyone encountered this problem and couls suggest a solution.

Please advise

Dave

Have a look in this article.

Pay special attention to IP address on Bluetooth adapter (it must be 192.168.0.1 if using ICS). Also make sure to download VxUtil and try doing a PING in some well known servers to see if DNS is working.

And make sure there's no personal firewall software running. If there is, disable it, make sure you start Windows without the firewall, then try again. If it works you'll have to make your way through the firewall configuration to allow communication from and to the 192.168.0.x range.

Thank You for your prompt reply.

What is really strange is I have 2 Bluetooth iPaq connected. The one, a iPaq 3970 connected for network sharing when I do an activesync, however, the other iPaq 3870 is the one that has the problem with the browser.

I am running 2 computers on a router/firewall enabled for internet connection sharing.

Where do I look for IP 192.168.0.1, under broadband connections or under Bluetooth network connection.

Also, the network access works with the iPaq 3970 when the MS Windows XP firewall is enabled.

Why would the iPaq 3970 (this is only one that activesync's with computer that has bluetooth adapter) be able to surf the net and other unit iPaq 3870 not be able to.

Still need Help

Are you browsing the net with your H3970 (the one working ok) over Bluetooth LAN or Bluetooth ActiveSync?

On your H3870, run the welcome.exe program from the \windows folder, soft reset it and try again!

Hi,

The iPaq 3970 is working flawlessly on the internet.

I tried the welcome.exe screen and soft reset, same problem.

It is too bad I cannot set up activesync with 3870 as well, however, the 3870 is for another user in the house.

Any other suggestions.

Dave
