Does anyone know where I could find something like that in NZ? or perhaps online that will cheaply ship here?

Thanks,

Gavin

Sorry perhaps I didn't make that clear enough.

I am just looking for the flexible plastic type with no connector on it. Will be using it to create points of light inside a plastic model by heat-shrinking a bunch of strands and an l.E.D together.

Something like this: http://thefiberopticstore.com/purchase/endglowfilament.htm

how long do you need the strands to be?

i have some dead LCD displays at work that are fiberoptic backlit so may be suitable....the strands are mayybe 0.5mm?? i'll check.

but as above , a toslink cable may be ideal for not much $$$
