stocksp:

Im just using an adapter.  The ggole home power supply is a non standard one, so an adapter seemed easiest.

I now have one google home, one alexa, and another home on the way :)  Controlling harmony hub, phillips HUE, and about to install lutron lights.  Also have a ring doorbell.  All working great

Proving once again that I am a user of tech not knowledgeable about it... My google home arrived from states The us states power supply So can one just use a standard usa to nz adaptor? nothing special needed? not going to fry the google home?

Check the power adapter input voltage.

Should say something like 110/220v or 110-230v

If it does, you are all good :)

Cheers,

has it even been released yet?

I dont have that option on mine yet

im guessing its to do with this "This functionality is only available in the US. It will be coming to the UK soon. "

Well, our devices are purchased from US so they are theoretically US devices :)

The standard method of getting a Google Home in NZ is via B and H if you aren't travelling to the States:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1297281-REG/google_ga3a00417a14_home.html

$129 USD + some shipping...

Cheers, Matt

Yes I saw that too, thanks. Just wondering if there were perhaps specials at other retailers that I may not have found yet. I remember it was 100USD on Black Friday once!

I purchased mine through B&H at $129.00 USD plus around $20odd for Shipping.

A few week's after I purchased mine, they offered a free chromecast with all GH orders...bugger!!

I havent seen B&H selling GH on special, but places like Walmart and Best Buy have gone down to $99 on special. But only for Black Friday as you mention.

Still, I think for $130+ shipping, it is a pretty good deal and B&H are easy to deal with.

B&H did as well, but they were out of stock immediately, and in stock the moment the price went back up to $129...

I still went ahead and purchased, it and think they honoured the $99 price and shipped when they received the stock. I sometimes also ask them to price match if it is available on special on other website, not GH but lenses.
