I have the green dot on my IOS phone but it doesn't respond to anything. The dot is not on my (Windows) computer screen though. Your link yields nothing, are you offline?  I am lost.

[Mod Edit: It's "Windows"]

Sorry, I just realised that page is only visible to me because I had logged in to my weather station through the PC.

I don't have access to the IOS app but on the Android app click on Settings / Stations / "Your Station Name"/ Status

then scroll down to your device stats (ST-000xxxxx) and RSSI will be visible. You need to go back one menu level and then back into Status for the data to refresh. You can also see the Last Hub Time to see when the data was last received (~ every minute).

That works on IOS as well. Thanks. Current reading is -28, 4 metres through a desk and glass.

After breakfast I will do some testing. (very late start today...)

I'm in lockdown with time on my hands. How do I do this?

If you go to the status page for your Tempest you will see a rssi figure for the device at the bottom of the page (not to be confused with the hub rssi for the wifi). This is the link to my Tempest status page (which you can also get to from the main weather stats page by clicking on the green online dot at the bottom of the page.). This updates once a minute so move the weather station, wait a minute and then  refresh.

From the rssi stats supplied so far my figures don't look too out of the ordinary. Rather than a signal strength problem the issue with my weather station is looking more like an intermittent loss of pairing that it can't recover from so has to be manually re-paired to the hub.

Do you have another signal interfering with the Tempest signal. Access to a spectrum analyser would be handy sometimes.

In particular if it's on an ISM band then there could be other stuff on that band interfering. I had periodic disconnect problems with the Davis until I poked around with a spectrum analyser and found something else on the same frequency that produced a great tidal wave of signal across the spectrum (it really looked like a huge wave rising up and falling back again) at an interval where it occasionally coincided with the Davis signal, blanking it out.

Depending on where the OP is they could borrow the analyser once the current kerfuffle is sorted out.

How did you fix it?

With a surgically precise modification of the device, from memory a wireless doorbell, that was causing the problem, using the following precision tool:

I inherited a very much older and much more used version of the same precision tool. They never fail to work. 🤣

How did you narrow it down to the door bell? I suspect there's quite a few of these problems lurking in our neighbourhoods.

It was some years ago so I can't remember the exact details but from memory just moving around to find the area where the signal was strongest, since there was nothing else (at least obvious, could have been some UWB or other undetectable stuff) on the band it wasn't too hard to find. The main thing was spotting that it was interference from another device that was causing it rather than random gremlins somewhere, once you know it's that you can usually narrow it down to a suspect list.

100% agree and wonder that something like this is aaristotle's problem. Another unit may not fix the problem.

Mine arrived this morning having shipped on the 23rd, did not expect it so soon

Setup was easy and the wind setting was 180 degrees out

At the moment it is just sitting on the garden table while I figure out a suitable place to put it.

Mine also arrived this morning, just waiting on a pole to arrive to mount it to the fence.

Very quick to set up, working great so far even though it’s not in an ideal position at the moment.
