Late to the thread so forgive me if this has been raised earlier but does anyone know what these would be like in a softbox? I am thinking of buying a cheap softbox on trademe and it has dawned on me a set of lights where you can control colour and light intensity with a remote will be awesome for photography.

I don't have any photography experience but the lumens might be the let down for the coloured LED's anyway. The kids have found the coloured LED's awesome to play with but the white of the RGB LED's is just not bright enough to use for everyday white lights. It is quite cunning the way they work. I would give them 10 out of 10 if the RGB was brighter to use for everyday use.

I've had 3 of the white lights for a month or two now and they are great. I have all 3 in 1 fitting and turn each one on and off as required.

I'm not using the android app as the remote that come with them works fine.

Has anyone used these and had a powercut? Apparently with wifi lights, if you have a powercut during the night, it resets and all the lights come on when the power comes on, which would be very annoying. Anyone had experience with that happening?

Yep they are and there is no big postage on the limitless site, when you change your address to 'New Zealand' it changes shipping to $9 USD

OK thanks, when I first tried the site it quite me about $20 US to ship, but I see changing the country to NZ, it reduces the shipping price. So yes that is a good deal. It is something they may want to fix, as it is off-putting to see that when you first try to see how much it may cost.

I turn mine off at the switch when i finish for the night. I have only had 1 power cut in the last 3 years that i can remember so not really an issue for me. when i do have a power cut, light is the least of my worries... my USP starts beeping until i get up and turn it off :-)

Any hints on how to get the wireless bridge going with the app? Took forever just to get it on the wifi, but the app will just not work (I can ping the bridge from my phone fine)

Its always just worked for me once I have put the IP and port into the app, if you are on ios I dont think you can add multiple bases, certainly couldnt when I was trying.

Then its just a case of pairing the lamp the to the base, so hold the button on the app down as you power up the lamp for a second or so.

My base sometimes seems to queue the commands either in the app, somewhere on the network or in the base for 10-15 seconds sometimes and then they all come thru in a flood, I suspect its my flakey wifi doing it. If only the base was hardwired...

Hmmm there really needs to be some sort of a wall mounted remote for a single light, light the white remote but without the zone

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...
