Nup,

Got my home mini, its pretty good for a tiny speaker. We have a bluetooth speaker in the kitchen that we use for radio/music and its easily as good as that plus we get the home stuff. Since my kids are all under 4 we can never find our remote for the mi box so im hoping we can cast netflix and youtube with the home to save a little stress. Its like little kids are attracted to remotes, then they pull the batteries out, then stash each battery and the remote in 3 different locations.

Sweet ok ill leave it on that. Not sure if you guys said but that raido sport thing looks like its working ok, new zealand radio national though is totally crazy - Plays in like slow motion or something weird (from iheart). Seems weird. Any way of getting the rock to stream on it as from what i gather the rock isnt in iheart radio. I think the mini is a great size, couldnt really see the need to go bigger. Perhaps a screen one like the show would be ok in the kitchen but music wise for us its fine.

I play it via tune-in with Google Home instead to avoid this issue. You can say "Play Radio New Zealand National from Tune-in", or set up an easier shortcut link to that phrase via the app (I simply use "Play Radio New Zealand").

Bought my "Home" while in UK (Early October when there was a special price of 99 pounds going). Works perfectly here - for Radio New Zealand National I say "Hey google play radio NZ" and it plays via iTune radio. I have found that by saying "Hey" in my requests rather than "OK" my other Android devices don't also react at the same time.
The mic is very sensitive - eg during a phone conversation I was having about 8m away from "Home" it picked up the command that was part of my conversation and started playing Radio NZ!

Sound is well balanced with good bass and clear voice tones. I'm linked to Google Play and enjoy their huge audio collection available so conveniently. Have also installed IFTT android app that allows you to add lots of other controls to "Home".

Sweet thats it, man its a mouthful though. Just using play radio nz on tunein works ok

Ill give shortcuts a go

Managed to get multi user setup to just using our ipad and changing the region and language to US then reloading the home app. It now can tell the wife and me apart. Next up is trying to see if i can get it to understand my 3 almost 4 year old.

Took me a bit to get the multi user to enabled as well. Still haven't been able to get it to let me do speaker grouping with the chromecast yet either.

I didnt think you could? i have a group with my chromecast AUDIO but not the normal chromecasts i have. That would be awesome though to use the normal ones too

For me i just need to sus out the turning on and off the tv, might end up buy that harmony hub or see if there is a way i can use an ir blaster and our htpc in the lounge to do it

For it to work with TV I brought the Harmony Home hub, still fiddling with it when i get time but i read that you need to setup up an activity then integrate it with IFTTT.

I've got as far as the creating the activity for turning my tv and lights (hue) on, but google home is still not understanding my phrase. The applet uses google assistant "Ok Google, turn on the TV" and it should start the activity in the home hub.

I'll need some time to fiddle but it should work....

Much better than the echos at hearing me from across the room, better than my full size home by quite a bit. I will try to talk to the close by big home and the mini in the next room will often hear me and wake up and do whatever it is.

Speaker is useless for anything but notifications and alarms, and no 3.5 out so cant plug something decent in, no bluetooth so cant connect to something vaugely acceptable like the echo dots have. Have to cast to a chromecast audio which then seems to mean the home cant hear me. Alexa is still my music lady, but google lady for answering other stuff.

Looks like B&H Photo wont ship Google Home to NZ anymore.

I have just gone on to look at the cost of a GH Mini including Shipping and there is now a warning pop up that says "Manufacturer's restrictions for the shipping address provided prevent us from completing an order on the following item: Google Home Mini".

Which is odd, as I am sure when I looked at this last week, I was able to add to cart and calculate shipping to NZ. I also purchased my Google Home from B&H back in May of this year with no issues.

Has anyone else come across this warning on B&H??

Was keen to see what their Black Friday sales were going to be, and if they would include GH/mini.

Does any one have tips on where GH Mini might be going cheap on Black Friday sales, that allow shipping to NZ. I guess i could also use NZ Posts, YouShop.
