I finally got my Tempest last week here in Wellington (used the UPS option). It has been in the country for 4 weeks but Aramex kept palming me off saying its in transit from Auckland. Service was so poor I had to ho to their offices to show them how long it was “in transit”.

Is anyone having trouble with their Tempest data reaching Weather Underground? Mine stopped about 7am this morning, however in my device list it says I'm online? The tempest itself is still running fine.

Shows Green on my stations page, but red / offline when selected!

Been no obs on wunderground for 12 hours now, I've logged a fault with Weatherflow to see if they have done anything that could of broken the feed.

This is the comment I got from weatherflow:

 

There have been some ongoing problems between WU and WF server communication lately. We rebooted a database server over the weekend and there could have been some leftover problems. Data should be flowing again and if not soon.

Weather Underground also is pretty bad - for example, this:

 

 

"Tongariro Street" is actually uploaded via meteobridge and not via Tempest but is showing as offline in my account.

 

Clicking on them however...

 

 

 

 

 

Go figure... Weather Underground is just terrible in general so can't fully blame Weatherflow here.

I guess I should expect the same then. I didn’t realise it was First Class, assumed it would be the same speedy service they use when you order one. Clearly not.

 

 

Package has now left Auckland Airport, which I can see on the USPS tracking site. I assume the NZ Post tracking connection to USPS has been down awhile as NZ Post tracking stopped updating a month ago with the package still in New York, and has been telling me "an error has occurred" ever since.

 

 

Replacement weather station finally arrived yesterday. Today will be spent experimenting with both to see what range both weather stations cover and if they report the same rssi signal strength readings.

 

Looks like my unit just made it before the USPS suspended postal services to NZ (https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=48&topicid=289831). Tempest might have to look at using the USPS Express service to get replacements to NZ in the meantime.

So the replacement is still sitting in Miami then this morning I read USPS has suspended service to NZ. Looks like it’ll be returned to sender. Can’t win!

My replacement Tempest had got as far as SFO when usps turned it around is now on its way back to Factory had hoped as already shipped would make it all the way

 

 

 

Waiting to hear what is next for shipping

Did your one leave Miami or was it still just sitting there?

 

I've got one that apparently left Miami on 17th September with no updates since then. I wonder if it's worth reaching out to them about it.

I've got two shipments, both from before 1 October, making their way towards the west coast from the east coast. It'll be interesting to see what happens, and annoying if they get all the way to the LA exchange office only to be turned back.
