michaelmurfy:@msukiwi Cheap Android tablet + Always On enabled in the app. Or heck, even run Android on the Pi and do it that way via the official app.

Thanks, you answered my question - NO there is NO Simple way. Tablet = Unneeded Cost - Have Large Monitor & RPi3 already dedicated to it.

RPI + Android is a kludge from what I have seen.

There are other methods also - the Tempest hub broadcasts weather data over the network so you can even use the Pi to capture it - there are Grafana dashboards for example for it: https://github.com/lux4rd0/weatherflow-collector/

The big eruption by Tonga has put out a impressive shockwave covering the pacific.

A lot of weather stations are picking up the sudden pressure change, here is mine

Looking at twitter this morning I've seen a few tweets that people in the UK and Holland have detected the same air pressure blip also as the shockwave traveled around the planet, really impressive stuff

I have a Digitech weather station that I bought from Jaycar about 6 years ago. The anemometer is not turning when the wind blows. Does anybody know what I can do to get it going again?

Is it physically not turning, or the station is not detecting it is turning?

If the first, sounds like the bearings have seized in the rotating section the vane sits on.

What model is it?  It may be a copy of another station that you can get parts for.

If it is bearings, the AWS Company didn't make them .
You can try your luck at your local bearing shop. Ask for free spinning / light action type as usual bearings are full of grease which will drag on the cups distorting that readings.

They're a bit of a specialist thing so they cost more.

@Deanonzl - The model number is XC0348

@elpenguino - Thanks for the information.

The anemometer is not turning. So I guess it is the bearings as suggested.

It will be a while before I can get up on the roof to take a look as I had an accident over the weekend and have injured my foot.
