Looking at getting a new heatpump for other end of the house which will have one of these on it, also considering retrofitting to the existing one.
Did anyone ever get any further on getting these to work locally without a remote server?

I put it away as I was moving my unboxing desk to the shed and then the builders decided to do the shed so its still put away.
I'll happily test it for you if you know where it is. ![]()

Which one are you looking at? @michaelmurfy has my broadlink one for testing (I couldn't get the blasted thing to even connect to the wifi...). You're welcome to have a play with that if he's done with it.
One of these
@sbiddle I'd suggest trying the Broadlink first (I could bring it into town) as most heatpump remotes do a IR blast which sends all the settings in an encoded form. I've found the Broadlink had to be manually programmed for my Mitsubishi heatpump. Ended up buying another Raspberry Pi Zero to emulate WiFi control as per this post but also bought another broadlink.

I just ordered one of the Broadlink mini's to play with.
Hi Guys, I use the pebble air wifi-controller www.pebbleair.com and find it perfect.
I have the Mitsi Wifi control. My issue is that it uses the old Wifi security, which is very frustrating as I need an old WAP just for that. There is a minutes delay, but it's not a big deal to me.
I really rate having Wifi control, but wish it had stats I could refer to etc.
One for my Panasonic would be ideal.
I would buy another Mitsubishi Heatpump in a heart beat. I'd never buy another Fujitsu.
The pebble works on the Panasonic, works on loads of brands.
