Re Ecovacs - never again. Asides from the horrific app and the device continually getting lost, ours had a terminal issue with a bumper sensor/board, to which their answer to the problem was buy a new model. For a company to suggest binning something that was not old by any stretch of the imagination and just adding it to the land fill as a viable support option was just abhorrent. I avoid Ecovacs at all cost now. Just nope.

fwiw I was too tight to consider a Roborock and just went with a Xiaomi s10 and its been a great replacement for the Ecovacs one (only downside really has been the smaller battery; but thats an easy fix). They are an amazing time saver and I didn't think twice about replacing the old one when it died.

Hey guys, just bringing this thread back to life. What's the best robot vacuum cleaner with mopping function out there these days? Best performance and all.

Was that price for the Roborock in store? I’m trying to find that listing online.

We're still happy with the Roborock. It's easy to use, effective, and when hair gets caught around the roller brush it's easy to get out by taking off the end pieces. The only thing I'd like is a simpler way to switch between maps in the app, but that's minor. It auto switches which is good enough in some cases, but not for selective room cleaning

Still highly recommend and much better than the old xiaomi.

Hi guys - revisiting thread for 2026 - we got into the market for a robot vacuum recently and I am astounded by the amount of models available from every manufacturer - it's like there's no proper upgrade cycle for these things!!

Main use will be in an old house, mostly carpet with hardwood kitchen and dining. There is a slight nib wall that the robot will have to navigate (I measure 3.5cm) - if I have to make a timber ramp so be it.

Reading the endless reviews online (and the lack of for some) makes it even more confusing. Currently we've narrowed it to the few models below.. any suggestions? Budget is really around the $1.1k - if we need to stretch slightly more we will do so if it is justified.

  • Roborock Qrevo C Pro - About $880 from PB (the EdgeC appears to be slightly better and ticks the boxes for us, but now seems discontinued and not available to purchase)
  • Eufy E25 - $1138 from JB
  • Mova P50 ultra - $1199 from NL
  • Dreame L50 - definitely on upper end of pricing at $1499

Reading onto the reviews also suggest Xiaomi being parent company for roborock, dreame and mova.. what gives!

Any guidance is appreciated.

We're still happy with the Roborock, it vacuums carpet and hard floors well and doesn't run into things very often, the app is good. We've never used mopping. Given Roborock is the cheapest and will likely do the job suggest you go for that one, unless the others have features you really want.

Just an update - we ended up with one model that we didn't even consider! (Dreame L40s Pro Ultra).

Went to visit JB Hifi Manukau, and saw that they had both the currently stocked Qrevo C Pro (at $889), last display stock of Qrevo EdgeC (at $1097 - and they were able to reduce to $997), and the last display stock of Dreame L40s Pro Ultra (at $997 from $1397).

From a quick review check it appears the L40s is simply a L50 with a smaller battery and non-retractable lidar head - good enough for us at a $500 saving compared to getting the L50.

Dobby the Dreame has since mapped the house and also been integrated to homeassistant.. the SO is happy, therefore so far so good..

I still like my Ecovacs T9+ and the hardware, but the software just lets it down.

Map issues (it creates maps on top of maps) and sometimes docking problems.

I also have to block one of the dock ports so it actually empties. Mopping is very good.

These vacuums date so quickly, and are phased out so fast. I would like one with a bigger motor, huge onboard storage, and I couldn't care less how big it is, or if it can go under everything. It may as well carry the dock around with it.
