That does not look like a good vacuum, no lidar.

HTPC / Home automation (home assistant) enthusiast.
Isnt that the 'cleaning route' ie planned?
Mine arrived today, first thoughts... AWESOME!
Surprised it filled the dust bin completely and was really compacted in there even though I vacuumed once on thursday and again on friday with the pet attachment (we have 1 cat).
I suspect the full dustbin is due to going under the beds.
It did approx 52m2 in 57min - It did stop and go back to dock to charge.. I was impatient and it was only 30% out of the box.
It finds it's way around table/chair legs without issue.
Only thing I will do is to get some magnetic strip to put around the cats food bowels as it pushes them around and also on my speaker stands in the living room as it rids up on them and has a hard time getting back off and makes a horrible noise.
You have to watch "the cats food bowels" as the cleaner can have real fun spreading "the cats food bowels" contents

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago parallelimported for $429. After initially confirming it has been dispatched and sending tracking info, they subsequently informed me that the supplier couldnt source them. It's still on the website, now for $499, so I suspect this was more about profitability than availability, in fact, I will bet that my bot has arrived safely and been sold to someone else at the higher price. Am I just cynical?
...so I've gone back out for round 2 - this time with DSE.
Only $389 this time, plus `$12 in shipping/insurance... and expected delivery in the first week or so of November.
I'm crossing my fingers, toes, and legs.
edit: for the record, I'm obviously talking about the Xiaomi Mi, not Robocop
bonkas:
If your having trouble sourcing one I bought mine from the AliExpress Xiaomi Lifestyle store. Came out to 400NZD after shipping and arrived in ~4-5 days with express DHL shipping.
Note the price on the DSE page is in AUD not NZD
No it's not.
Seriously guys, just get one from DSE and be patient.
They have slow service, but better than a Chinese store that speak a couple of words of English. Plus you have our consumer laws as assurance.
Hooked mine up to Google Home on my phone and now I can tell it what to do , so much cooler than pushing buttons
I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Could you give a quick how-to on this? I'm hoping you going to say it's now natively supported.

Mine GHome keeps telling me there's an error and could not start the device :(
Note that I'm totally missing out as I set-up automatic rules once and never changed it for the past 6+ months.

I just went to Google Home on my phone and added the Mi Home account. It found the vacuum although its name was in Chinese and I had to rename that. It didnt find two other Mi devices.

What does it need to start working? I.e. can you take it out of the box, turn it on and it goes, or does it [b]require[b] you to connect it to wifi and/or setup with the mobile app before it will do anything?
Assuming it does require setting up via the app, once it's setup and working will it keep working if you uninstall the app?
What about if you disconnect it from the wifi network?
jaytheham: Can someone who has one of these answer a couple of questions about them for me? What does it need to start working? you can push the button to start it cleaning, but missing out on:
- timers (set-up timer to run on schedule)
- settings (changes various settings like timezone, cleaning mode, cleaning zone, etc etc etc)
- voice packs (I guess you wont like it speaking in Chinese)
- notifications (get info if it stacked, done cleaning, etc etc etc)
- updates (might be fixes for better sensor reading, etc etc etc)
why bother with smart vacuum and using it as dump?
