12 months ago I wouldn't have recommended Home Assistant however it has made leaps and bounds in the last 12 months and I think it getting pretty close to being a mainstream solution.

If you have a spare Raspberry Pi lying around you can throw it on that and get started straight away and have a play. It is probably the largest aggregator of smart devices and has a huge following.

Adding Shelly's to Home Assistant is completely painless with the HACS ShellyforHass add-on.

MrAmerica: I have a bunch of Shelly devices to add to my bunch of many other devices. I have tended to use the apps per manufacturer in the past with a bit of IFTTT and Google Home/Assistant thrown in to make sure everything is as messy as possible.

I think its time to look at a dedicated home automation solution and have seen somewhere one that uses a nice UI to program things up a bit like IFTTT on meth.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I have done a bit textual type programming back when stubbies with walk socks were a thing. Not keen to re learn that if possible.

I did actually download the thing I am thinking of a few years ago but beer and head high tackles in my youth mean the old memory aint so so flash these days.

Whole new thread right here. You'd be better to start a decdicated thread. There's a number of different approaches used in this community - from bought controllers (ie vera), or self implemented Home Assistant, Openhab or Homebridge installations and probably some roll your own.

Thanks Matt, I wont bog this thread down any further. I already had HA open was reading through it so that might be the go. I can buy a RaspPi to run it on.

To the people that have recently ordered and received their Shelly devices - what shipping did you guys use?

I ordered 4x Shelly1's using the standard international shipping on the 22nd of May and they still haven't arrived! Working with support now but I suspect I will just have to hope and wait. Last shipping update was 66 days ago saying it left EU

I used standard shipping for two shipments and both turned up in around two weeks the most recent one was today.

Mine shipped 5/6 and arrived yesterday (47 days). I used 17track.net and it shows updates from both PostNL and NZPost when delivered. It arrived in NZ on 8/7 and sat for a long time, I was worried I missed the delivery at work so I queried NZ Post. Turns out they actually have full visibility of the parcel and location with the tracking number, they just choose not to show it on their end.

Going by the others posts, orders shipped late June arrived VERY quickly.

Edit - go to https://www.nzpost.co.nz/contact-support/assistance/parcels and fill it out with the tracking number and someone will call you back. I had a call the next day.

Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to installing them and I will probably order more to be honest... They appear to be a solid product. I'll do that and see where they think it is. Appreciate your help

Anyone heard word on the 2.5? What's the viability of tucking a pair of the Shelly 1's behind a standard dual switch setup? They look bloody interesting, but the 2.5 seems like the simpler bet, assuming it'll be available any time soon.

Not sure about 1PMs. Can't think of a use-case. No HWC.

I don't intend to use the power monitoring features of the Shelly 1PM, but I think the additional overheat protection is worth having.

If you're paying someone to install them, the Shelly 1PM may work out cheaper as they are easier to install. They cannot be used for low voltage switches like the Shelly 1 however.

Hi @Lightbulb. Certification is expected shortly for the Dimmer 2.

Dimitar confirmed certification a couple of days ago on the Shelly Facebook support page (as below)

I can no longer find anything when searching for Allterco, and the direct link by SirHumphreyAppleby no longer works. Does anyone know what's going on or have a copy of the certificate for the 1PM? I'm about to book my sparky to come install a few.

Their online document system only provides temporary links. By the time I realised this, it was too late to edit the post.

This looks like a temporary issue as no search results are appearing, but I have a copy of the Shelly 1PM certificate if anyone needs it. PM your e-mail address and I will send it through.
