@paul1977 I can try and remember to do it. If you are awake late at night can you PM me after 9pm and when I get back from Squash if it's not too late, I'll try it.

Honestly, we don't use the scheduler so I am not sure off the top of my head.

I don't know about the AP switch, it's not something I'm inclined to try right now honestly.

@networkn I spoke to an installer about the cost of the adaptor and asked him this question as well. He said that the fan comes on at whatever fan speed it was on when it was last turned off. I'll work on the assumption that the installer is correct, and won't put you to the trouble of testing it. It's only a minor annoyance, and not a deal breaker.

Got a price of $195 for the adaptor (not including install), which is not too bad. I'll try to get them to install for free if I get a service at the same time, otherwise I'll install it myself (instructions are very straight forward).

EDIT: OK, so I'll install it myself. $70 for them to install it. All it is is shutting off power, removing the cover, plugging it in, putting the cover back on, and turning power back on.

I have the Mitsi Wifi control. My issue is that it uses the old Wifi security, which is very frustrating as I need an old WAP just for that. There is a minutes delay, but it's not a big deal to me.

I really rate having Wifi control, but wish it had stats I could refer to etc.

One for my Panasonic would be ideal.

I would buy another Mitsubishi Heatpump in a heart beat. I'd never buy another Fujitsu.

@networkn I'm considering getting one of these for my heat pump at home. I've had a look at the online demo thing to make sure it will do everything I want, but there is one thing I am not sure of:

When you set a schedule you can specify the mode and temperature but not the fan speed. So is the fan speed on a scheduled activation set to whatever it was when your programmed the schedule, or whatever the heatpump was set to when last used.

I ask because often in the evening I will turn the fan speed down so it is not as loud while watching TV, but if I have it scheduled to come on automatically in the morning I will always want to to start up on auto speed. I don't want to have to remember to manually change the speed back to auto at the end of the evening.

If you don't know the answer to this, would you be in a position to test this for me?

WPS is annoying. Can you set the old AP with the same SIDD and passphrase as your non-WPS APs just for connecting the heatpump and then turn off the old AP? I.e. do you just need the old AP for the initial connection?

@paul1977 did you manage to come up with a solution for an AP without WPS. I have tried to repurpose a draytek for WPS which connects to the heatpump but once I try and swap out the draytek for my daily AP it won't connect. I'm not particularity keen on having the draytek there just for controlling the Wi-Fi.

Or has anyone figured out a way to cycle modes. i.e. between Heat and Cool? Need AC during the afternoon currently, and then heat over night...

Yes. I just wrote about making my own wifi -> IR heat pump controller. It replicates the remote control, so you could trigger it with home automation software or a cron job and set whatever mode you need at whatever time.

Hello. It's not written by me, but you'll find the code on GitHub under krzynio/esp8266-ir-ac-remote

That guy happens to have chosen to include the Fujitsu module from ToniA/arduino-heatpumpir, which is what I wanted. It may be simple enough to compile any of the other modules.

I also built this, ToniA/Raw-IR-decoder-for-Arduino, which I am using to compare IR codes generated from the ESP module with "real" codes generated by the remote control, to make sure it's right.

A Wemos D1 Mini Pro is $6.27US from Banggood, or $10NZ if you want to get it tomorrow from Nicegear. Plus a few cents for an IR LED.

Anyone noticed how the latest update on the app is showing an outdoor reading? Mine is ---. Is this just for selected models with a sensor on the outside fan? My heatpump is a Floor Model, Rapid Heat version

Mine shows --- when not operating, when it is running I do get an outdoor temp reading. Mine is the hypercore high wall model.
