Niel: Nice. Just a few days ago I've read through all of this thread and looked at specs etc. How much are you looking for the IPC-HFW2100?

$250 incl GST for each IPC-HFW2100-0360B camera for geekzone members. My usual price for trademe etc will be bit higher. I have to pay GST to customs, GST to IRD on every sale to customer, Income tax and little things here and there so sure the price is higher than what you can prob get directly from aliexpress which I advertised knowing what I am getting into, I offer 2 year local warranty and support with firmware and technical know how regarding CCTV.

Single port PoE injector is $50 for geekzone members. 16 port (only 8 ports are PoE but are full powered 15.4W on each of those PoE port) is $330 incl GST for geekzone members.

8 port NVR excluding hard drive is $550 incl GST for geekzone members or $700 incl 2TB Seagate 7200RPM Hard Drive.

15M network cable is $10 for geekzone members.

Thanks Bill Gates. Initially I wrote the question in the line of "how will it compare to import myself" but I do understand how business works and more than happy to pay a little but extra knowing if it is e.g. DOA then it is cheap to return. And we all have to make a living as well, just don't like it when it costs double the price of importing it myself (like my car oil filter, buy it from the UK delivered in 5 days).

If anyone is interested, I have a brand new in box IPC-HFW2100 that I thought had internal micro SD but alas it does not. As my friend does not have a NAS, I need one with internal storage without going to the expense of the IPC-HFW3200C.

Make me an offer and if anyone has a IPC-HFW3101C or IPC-HDBW3110 maybe we can trade?

RS820+, DS223, CoreELEC on Odroid N2+, 3 x Echo Dot & 7 x Google Homes connected to Home Assistant on Beelink SEi12.

Peter, have you found a source for either HFW3101C or HDBW3110 you mentioned? It looks like your needs are similar to mine.

I can get both HFW3101C or HDBW3110 models in if anyone is interested. Cost is NZ$440 incl GST for both models and come with 2 years warranty. Minimum buy is 2 units for each model. For extra $10 you can get the IPC-HDBW3300 also with minimum 2 order buy and 2 years warranty.

Hi guys,

Looking at the specs of the IPC-HFW2100 and the IPC-HDW2100 at the moment, it seems that they are pretty much identical apart from HFW2100 might perform better at night (base on Min. Illumination figures) and the HDW2100 can capture a bit more base on the higher angle of view. Is this the case? I am no expert in cameras.

Just to add to this thread I picked up a HDBW3300 a couple of weeks ago. I rate it as one of the best cameras I've ever played with in terms of value for money and performance.

IMHO it's right up there with Mobotix in terms of picture quality with the added bonus of IR for night rather than needing to use a dual lens Mobotix camera for night.

I noticed that the HFW2100 has much more IR LED than the dome version, shouldn't the bullet one produce a better night time picture? cheers :)

It's just for testing at present so not running off anything. It's a shame that Dahua's NVR's and software lack a little bit in some areas. The NVR's are awesome but the lack of 3MP support on any negates the benefits of a 3MP camera. I also find PSS a good product but it's not the simplest product to use. For anybody going down the PC path I highly recommend NVR+ software. There is nothing out there that comes close to the capabilities of a Mobotix camera dumping everything direct to a NAS via NFS, but once again if you buy Mobotix you're paying a price premium for the brand so it's a matter of selecting the right product for the job.

Another great bit of software is BlueIris if you are providing you're own PC. Very reasonable pricing.

It handles Webcams, older analogue cameras and of course IP cameras. I have it currently running at 3 locations (My house, a firends shop and my parents place)

I think it has a 15-day trial version you can run, all features available except for for a watermark (which gets removed when you apply the license).

Have had it running for over a year, managed to provide good photos to police when a suspicious character wandered through our back yard poking around. Even made the local police website :)

Certainly worth checking out the software even if you haven't decided on the rest of your kit yet, grab a spare webcam and go from there.

Unless the rules changed, you do not get charged for GST is it is under $50 because the cost of invoicing you is not worth it. So that means anything over $333 you should get invoiced. My experience is that items addressed to a company always gets checked, to a residential address it might not get checked for import duty. And also if the invoice does not clearly state US$ (or AU$) then it is considered to be NZ$ (i.e. in your favour).

BlueIris isn't a bad option if you're looking at a few camera for home. Much more than that or any sort of serious install and you realise the limitations of the software.

The biggest issue with IP is managing large installs. Start installing 10+ cameras that could have 40Mbps wizzing around your network and onto HDD's and you need to start looking at a setup from an entirely different perspective.
