Any suggestions on which printer can print the common designs for face shields?

Hit tim from mindkits up on twitter, @Mindkits - He was doing something to do with this I think.

If you just buy a printer now, you will probably not have it dialed in before they are not needed anymore.

The answer I got was "any 3D printer with an adequate bed size"

So, anyone got recommendations of where to purchase if all you want to do is print face shields and respirators? Supply chains are considered essential so are still operating.

I see PB Tech have one for $7.5k, and they will deliver, but isn't there anything a bit more reasonably priced?

Make sure you understand how long it takes to print them. It's not like printing on A4 piece of paper, they often take many hours to print...

Hi, as a frontline medical worker i'll add a few comments.

Currently there is adequate PPE as far as I know, but this will probably change as things go on. Thanks to everyone willing to help out.

I suspect 3d printing is going to be really helpful as supplies dry up, not just of PPE but other plastic parts we would normally be able to import (such as small parts of ventilators etc.)

Anyone who has a 3d printer (however big or small) and is willing to help out, please let people know, and say where in the country you are based. I'm sure your local hospital will be looking for help if this carries on.

Again, thanks to everyone willing to help.

I did a stack of 4 in about 11. Others with better/faster printers can get it down to 9-10.

We're told they are essentially a disposable item and not to worry about form over function. A few printing artefacts on mine (one place in particular) but overall pretty good:

I'm using PLA since that's all I've got, and is flexible where it needs to be. But others have reported even better results with PETG.

I have the Ender 3 Pro. This is a Prusa i3 clone and the Prusa facemask is designed to fit that. Not sure if you're going to be able to manage shipping though since apparently it is now limited to essential services.
