I guess NZ is not really important in the grand scheme of things. Stupid thing is they only need to ship 5k - 10k units here and it'd likely saturate the market for a while at least until stock flows better. 10k units is nothing in the grand scheme of things considering they sold 2.5 million last month.

Australia seem to be hogging all the distribution. I think if NZ had an Apple store, we'd see much more stock.

I managed to get a 32GB Black 3G verson from DSE Sylvia Park this morning. So looks like stock is starting to trickle in finally.

I ordered a black 32GB 3G and Wifi at 5:30pm on opening day. Originally the shipping date was 27/4/11. Got an email today to say that it is in transit from Hong Kong. Will receive it early next week. A week or so ahead of notified time.

I ordered mine at that time too..
And the status on apple.co.nz says it's prepared for shipment today. I'm wondering how long does it take from prepared to shipped?

LOL.

Picked mine up from office reception 20mins ago. Must go and buy an XT microsim.

Didn't realise I'd have to synch it up with iTunes initially the first time to get it up and running.

Might wait till I get home and able to synch it up with my home PC iTunes before I go through that rigmarole.

Mine is sitting in the depot in town...
Waiting patiently at home - every time a truck goes past my house I think OOOH HERE IT IS!

...but no, it's not here yet.

Ordered my 32GB White wifi only model at about 9am on launch day. Delivered today at about 9am or so. Was originally due to ship on the 15th and arrive by the 21st so 3 days early.

Pretty pleased considering the demand for these things globally!

You don't have to sync. It is just a "touch and go" to connect iPad to an iTunes and done... no registration or anything.

If you haven't got SIM card yet, just tap on the "Cancel" (i think) on iPad and it'll go away.
