Just wondered what others were gonna do?

I smashed my last one when it fell off the car roof (dont ask) and the insurance money has been burning a hole in my pocket for the last few months while i waited for it to come out.

Gonna head down to Dick Smith in Wellington tomorrow and see if i can put my name down and go pick it up at 5pm (I believe thats when they go on sale?).

If there are none I will just order online and wait...

Just wondered what others were gonna do - and if there is any way to guarantee one tomorrow? eg anyone taking preorders?

As far as I'm aware nobody is doing preorders for the iPad 2, neither are they able to "put one aside" for a customer to pick up. This is due to Apples strict policy of denying the product is actually available for sale until 5pm. So your best bet is to be at one of the more likely stores that would be getting stock of them and getting a shuffle on

seems all retailers are forbidden from reserving any or for themselves. silly apple policies. i guess it does wonders for the hype. only sure way of securing one is to order at 3am (eta 4 hours time) and have it delivered straight from apple.

I don't see why not - but nothing wrong with ending up with two iPads either :D

okay i'm gonna stir up trolls but in all honesty I currently have 2 ipads - wifi and wifi +3g for work reasons :D

@Guyz, best chance is order online - as it won't get charged until it's shipping, then find a store and queue up, if you get one, then cancel the online order.

that's what many of the people on iPhonewzealand are doing.

Remember, it will be very limited quantity, and at Apple iPad Authorised Reseller...

You should be able to. I initially ordered my wifes iPhone 4 via the website after the launch debacle last year. A week before it was due to ship (had a 3 week lead time), my old laptop crapped itself so I had to redirect the funds intended for the iPhone to that, and was able to cancel the order with no problems.

Some of the accessories I ordered are "prepared for shipment" however the 2 iPad2 are "not yet shipping" with the Digital AV Adapter...

You can cancel the item, and giving the reason for cancellation.

Apple has charged my debit card already and my iPad is yet to ship! So I canceled the order and I still don't have the funds back. How am I supposed to buy one in-store now?!
