I went into Vodafone store at Sylvia Park Mt Wellington today to look at their demo iphone 4. I was so surprised to find that they had 3 demo iphone 4 and 1 demo in their other store at the other end of Sylvia park shopping mall.

I wonder why they would have so many in one store. ANd how many would be across the country that are just demos.

This from a I WANT THE IPONE 4 NOW!!!!!!! person lol

neil21: 32gb secured on contract, then breaking on Monday. Quite looking forward to it actually.
Pleased to get one before they update again and likely fix the jailbreak hole, although I guess it will soon be worked around again..

Where'd you get it from? Or was it a pre-order?

Agree with the posts about not buying from Vodafone. I'm not willing to give them a cent as a result of their bungled launch.

As for payment on the Apple store, my credit card was deducted immediately. The amount under "Money available" is $1099 lower, however the actual transaction has not appeared.

So they have only authorized the transaction then. Sucks to have a debit card when that happens tho ;)

Quick question - are the iPhone 4s sold by Vodafone on contract carrier locked? I don't think Vodafone do this but it would be a bit sneaky for those who buy, then cancel, and find out they aren't able to take easily to XT or 2D.

No. All phones in NZ are unlocked, iPhone included.

After reading about people's quick turnarounds on getting a replacement iPhone 4, I thought that turning in my old one on Wednesday meant I'd be without a phone for three days, tops.

I didn't account for Vodafone's utterly bollocks setup.  Not only do they have to send my old phone all the way up to Auckland, they rarely get shipments of replacement stock on Saturdays at my local store, and not at all on Mondays.  So the earliest I'll see a replacement phone is next Tuesday... almost a WEEK without my brand-new phone.  Total crap.

Maybe the easiest way is to port your number to another provider and then the system will just see you have left and charge you the Early termination fee in your next bill and you are free from Vodafone.

Or I may be wrong.. maybe someone from vodafone (or not) would comment on this...

Thanks

That would remove the need to talk to vodafone, and its so easy to port to 2 degrees with the website doing it all.
