I've noticed that the iPhone X has dropped to $1699 at all the main retailers. Is it worth coughing up an extra $200 for the Xs or will the X be ok?

I’m wondering a similar thing about the X vs the XR. I can’t really see the value in the X though, despite the better screen and the dual camera system. The 128GB XR will be $200 cheaper than the X, will have the better chip, a new camera system front and rear (albeit single on the back) and better resale value a year or two down the line.

Assuming you don't want to take the X for a swim, it's about the same phone. But if you want to go swimming in with your iphone, (depending on teardown and water testing which I am sure will hit the youtube channels soon) then the XS [typed XR in error] is the one you want. Unless you also want to to the fancy magic photo changing after the fact - which really can be easily applied to the X if apple will allow it. Otherwise I see people selling their organs for the XS Max, as that is the only "new" phone in the line up. I guess the XR is also "new" in the sense that you can have magic effects that the 8 doesn't - again, I am sure if apple will allow it the 8 & 7 & 6S will also be able to do the magic tricks.
