Its all very reminiscent of the 4S launch where subsidies were about $200 more than usual for the respective plan, here's hoping anyway!!

The 4S launch was nice though, as Telecom/Vodafone offered the phones on prepay (w/ free simcard provided) as well as on plan with no problems - I bought a 64GB White 4S (IIRC the 64GB models were incredibly low on stock, with only 2-6 available per store).. I was then able to bring it into 2Degrees and use it the next day on their network :)

.. doubtful there will be such availability today/tomorrow, and for those looking to buy on Prepay the Apple store may be the only option (unless Yoobee sells some outright)?

I don't remember seeing the prices, and since Vodafone sent out those in a press release, then it's ok to post:

That for 12 or 24 months? Seems way too expensive if 24. Bought my last 32GB iPhone 4S on Telecom 24 month contract for $299, incl 200 minutes, 1GB data, and some silly amount of txt's 'cos I use iMessage mostly anyway. (edit: that was for $89/month)

Outright it is...

I don't think it will be a sell out

Hmmm I think that works out to be around a $700 subsidy instead of the usual $600 so a bit of a bonus but nothing dramatic

Moot point for me anyway as regardless of best deal we will be sticking to Telecom, here's hoping they pull something better out of the bag

Thanks cathy, was going to go down and have a look but think I'd prefer to wait for a 32GB

Telecom does open term contract and 24 months interest free on phone. It's pretty much same as buying outright

Yeah I only just noticed that 24 months interest free on their website, with no administration fees or anything either, quite cool and could be a good reason to buy Telecom online shop instead of Apple
