For dead pixels I went here: http://www.theipadguide.com/content/ipad-dead-pixel-test-how/7171269
Save the images and view them in camera roll, making sure to full-size them so you see all the edges of your screen. It's important to check the areas that are usually covered with status bars etc. The one time I had to return an iPod touch for this problem the dead pixel wasn't noticeable until you played a movie because it was in an area that usually showed the status bar at the top.

Leighton: Received mine today but it's going back for a replacement due to a dead pixel.
Now I have to make an adapter for the micro sim and wait another few weeks on the replacement.
I also had to get my mums iPad replaced due to a dead pixel.
Not happy.

I'm having the same problems with a 15" Macbook Pro I purchased 3 weeks ago. The first one had a dead pixel, so I returned it to Noel Leeming for a replacement. That one also had a dead pixel, so I returned it last Tuesday. I am still awaiting its replacement.

Apple seem to be dropping the ball on their product quality these days, IMHO.

I just checked my shipment details. Was meant to be shipping on the 2nd and arriving on the 8th but its now been updated to shipped (in Hong Kong and arriving this Friday!!

I feel like an expectant father again (or worse)

All I need now is Telstra to pull finger and give me a new sim. Does anyone have an IP4 on telstra out there yet?

Thanks, going to check this out. Trying to reup Wedict files without being JB is just too convoluted to contemplate.

I don't think single dead pixels on a few products out of thousands upon thousands (or millions in the case of iPads) indicate that "Apple is dropping the ball on their product quality" - bad luck more than anything.

My iPhone 4 is perfect! Can't replicate death grip on 2degrees, no dead pixels\yellow tinges at all, camera is fine. Guess I was lucky by the sound of it.

I have owned a number of laptops over the years, and this Macbook Pro is the first one that has ever had a dead or stuck pixel. Also, I may not have been clear, but the replacement laptop had the same problem (different colour and location though). Ironically this is also the most expensive laptop I've ever owned, and its purchase was largely influenced by Apple's track record on product quality.

Lastly, my comment was not made solely based on my recent experience, but also on the numerous problems I've seen reported here and elsewhere with the iPhone 4 (dead pixels, flash not working; not to mention the other well publicised problems).

Shiny new iphone arrived at work at 8.30 this morning. I still can't use it yet as i need to wait fro Telstra to send out a sim cutter so i can activate the phone ( being couriered tomorrow) . Telstra reckin i need to activate the phone first using a vodafone sim then switch over. This doesn't sound right does it? I told them as much. Has anyone activated using a non voda sim?

As soon as i saw it was on its way i ordered one of the iconic leather cases. I hope it gets here soon as i don't want to scratch the phone.
