Leighton: I just received my iPhone today. I rang them up straight away and said that there is a dead pixel. They were fine with it and have arranged for a TNT courier to pick it up. Once they receive it they will send me a replacement.
JB Hi Fi replaced my mums iPad straight away also.

Have you spotted some dead pixels on your iPhone?

Lucky. I phoned Apple about sending mine back due to backlight bleed through on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. No offers to send around a courier - I got told to send it to Mobile Fone Repair in Auckland. The only good news is that they reckon it's a 24 hour turnaround for a replacement. Which is good if it happens - because using the old 3G is like going back to an 12 inch colour TV after HD. It's terrible!

Nice! Already on it's way back. A replacement. 24 hour turnaround as promised by the very friendly Mobile Fone Repair person (pity about the weekend in the way - but there you go.). Very nice!

I cannot believe how riddled with issues these phones are!

My 3GS came out of the box in perfect working order, no dead pixels, no buggered camera, no earphone-jack silliness...

Waht the hell are Apple doing on their QC desk? Playing roulette?

Activated with a 2degrees sim out of the box no problem. I also have had no issues with my phone. Everything seems to be working as it should. The camera does not preform very well in low light conditions but I was expecting that with it's tiny lens. I can use my Canon DSLR which let's in much more light for low light shots anyway.
The flash is a bit meh but I have found it to be a handy flashlight much better than the screen light. Many flashlight apps now can let you use this.

The camera yellow tint issue should be fixed with the iOS 4.1 upgrade with the new HDR feature.

I just upgraded and photo colours now look more natural.. although the photos do lose the "artistic" feel but you can always turn off HDR.

You can get 4.1 here if you can't wait for the official release tomorrow/thursday: http://uneasysilence.com/archive/2010/09/15239/

I hate waiting. Thankfully I found a fab shop who let me sign up and then called me when the next shipment came in.
