2 weeks ago Vodafone emailed to say they'd be announcing things last week... Hopefully Paul can update us?

LOL last week they said we would be getting information within the week, week turns over and nothing.

Now all Aussie carriers have released their plan prices yet Vodafone has not, tbh thats shocking and any further delays are obviously cannot be attributed to Apple.

I think it's pretty simple really, Vodafone DON'T WANT to sell us iPhones? Not like there's any other Telco's around wanting our business....

I think it's simply because they know the iPhone will sell so it's not a priority to keep us posted :P

It'll sell alright but how many are gonna go to the dark side?

But- Whats the best option for people wanting it on lunch day and taking it to XT? Pretty sure DSE and jbhifi are all VF pushers....

XT needs better plans IMO.

All this talk of needing to sign on a contract made me investigate the not-so-appealing prospect of contracting myself to a Teleco.

If I go onto Vodafone for 24 months I get a $480 subsidy.

On top of this, the plan is only $40 per month (effectively only $20 per month after the subsidy above is taken into account), giving me all I need:

DATA, enough voice minutes, enough TXTs.

Just looked at the XT page:

MINIMUM base plan is $30 for either 50 anytime minutes, or else a combination of peak/offpeak call minutes and TXTs.

Data has to be ADDED and 240Mb per month costs $18.

So that's $48 per month at a MINIMUM on XT contract, with little or no subsidy.

The last/only time XT offered an iPhone it was $600 but you had to sign up for a voice only plan which cost about $80 per month off the bat before you even added any data...

What's wrong on buying directly from Apple online?

Has anyone else noticed the absence of any mention of the iPhone 4 on Vodafone's home page now? I'm sure the main banner had an 'iPhone 4 coming soon' type graphic a couple of days ago?

Not suggesting it means anything, just seems odd.

I think they were wanting to get it on launch day in person, rather than wait for delivery.

Then again hopefully they do overnight delivery.

Wow it is amazing how the things people are saying on here about the iPhone 4 are almost exactly the same things as were said in a 3GS thread this time last year.

I was already a VF (corporate) customer, so had to purchase a 3GS outright.  I was impatient too and wanted on in my hands on launch day (so I could play with it over the weekend).  I logged into the VF website at midnight, ordered my phone, and paid an extra $20 for same day delivery.

So for all those waiting impatiently for the iPhone 4 launch, it is possible that VF will do the same thing this year.  You'll just have to wait for them to announce it.

And just think about all the extra exposure they (Apple and VF) are getting by being secretive and waiting to the last minute - hundreds of whiny posts on several forums by those that can't wait!  Everyone ripping shreds out of Apple and VF for their tactics, but hardly anyone (if anyone at all) deciding that this will stop them purchasing one.  Genius!

Except its not Apples tatics, its not like Apple mandated one release date (plan info etc) for every other country yet some how New Zealand is special and we only get the info the day before.

This is all Vodafone not Apple I would say

Didn't someone or somewhere say that Vodafone will be releasing info on plans today?
