I received my case yesterday but it was the wrong one. I ordered the Apple Bumper case but instead I received the PixelSkin HD. I emailed one of the customer service reps that I have been dealing with and he said I could keep the PixelSkin HD case and they will send the correct one to me. Cool, I scored a free case but I can't use it because I don't have my iPhone!!!
Heres my story:
So I ordered my iPhone on the 5th of August. Apples estimated date of delivery was the 1st of September but I received it on the 30th of August. I switched it on and noticed a dead pixel straight away so I rang Apple up and the soonest they could organise for TNT to pick it up and ship it back was on the 1st September. 1st of September came and the iPhone was still in my possession. It wasn't until the 3rd of September that it was picked up.
I emailed the customer service rep who has been excellent over this whole journey and he said that my replacement order will be considered a "high priority" and will come before new orders. I got an order acknowledgement on the 5th of September stating that the dispatch date would be the 20th of Sep and delivery date 24th of Sep. I was pissed off that I would have to wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement so I emailed the customer service rep and he explained that those dates were based on new order lead times and my replacement iPhone wouldn't take anywhere near that long and they will ship me one when next available.
A considerable amount of time has passed and I have been waiting patiently over the past weeks and checking the status of my order everyday. 20th of September: Prepared for shipment 21st of September: Not yet shipped 22nd of September: Prepared for shipment 23rd of September: Prepared for shipment but the dates have changed and it now says "Ships: 1-3 business days" & "Delivers: 28/09/2010 - 05/10/2010"
That's weird, I normally find Apple shipping to be excellent. I got my ipad today, three days after I ordered it. It DID come from overseas!!! You'd think there'd have been a local one but that's ok. Pretty darn quick really!

I'm wondering why some iphone owners seem to be treated differently than others my iphone 4 was purchased via Apple NZ online shipped to me on the due date earpiece failed with in a week. I called apple was was told to take the ph to moblefone repairs in Auckland it was replaced with in 24 hours no waiting for a replacement to be shipped out, no courier pick up either same when I had a faulty 3g (hair line cracks) the phone had to be examined before a replacement was supplied, I could not just call apple and say yeah my earpiece stopped working send me another, without an examination of the ph for damage and proof of the fault by the repair centre.
Can someone please explain to me the stupidity behind the early resign fee?
I am currently on the iPhone60 plan with my term due to end of 7 January 2011, so less than 3 months. Managed to track down an iPhone 4 at a reseller that isn't a vodafone store.
I rand 777 to check that I can resign and if there will be any associated fees - she said there would be an ERF however you may be able to negotiate this with the store. So I rang an actual vodafone store and explained that I wanted to resign and that I was less than 3 months before my contract expired. She was pretty much the moss unhelpful and rudest person I have spoken to ever. She said that I needed to contact customer service on 777 to get this approved to which I said "they told me to contact you!!!" which she said, well we can't waive that fee due to the iPhones being heavily subsidized already. (Let's not even jump on that band wagon).
So i checked through the vodafone website after my conversation with her and it seems that every other plan apart from the iPhone plans, you can resign in the last 6 months of your term with no fee payable!!!
Seriously guys, this is stupid. Is there anyway I can get this waived??? I've been a VF customer for years and have never had such issues with a company NOT wanting me to spend more money with them...
i posted this in another thread but for people that dont want to wait 3 weeks, you can just buy the iphone4 outright from noel leeming...a few people already have
That is irritating though. On their website it states that you can buy it on contract. Yet you can buy it without contract. It's fantastic for anyone that can get it they way they want to, on contract or without. But it would be even better if companies were consistent and straight up about what they do.
