The App Store app is the only one 🤞 that frequently does not open correctly with me.

My iPhone 8 Plus has been running like crap since the update. Incidents include:

  • Getting really hot and battery rapidly draining as described in earlier posts here. I put it outside on a cobblestone because I was worried that the battery was in thermal runaway, but a restart fixed it.
  • Podcasts app doing strange things like playing audio while display indicates that nothing is playing.
  • Apps freezing for a period of time on start up. This seems to particularly affect the podcasts and settings apps.
  • Failing to action calendar reminders.

I have turned off automatic updates on my phone because I do not ever want to install a major update again until I have reviewed user feedback. It would be fair to say that I have very little confidence in Apple now.

Yup, I have an XS Max and an 8 Plus and get all the same issues, Also after using the camera for about 10-15 mins it goes into a thermal cut and kills the screen brightness on the Max.

Also get weird issues with the mail app that it takes 2 refreshes to get new emails

i did the itunes restore last night and the phone hasn't crashed yet but still gets bloody hot when using it.

It's even warm to the touch sitting on the table without use

Perhaps restart it a couple of times. If that doesnt work ring the Apple number. They will help you. I was quoted from my local Apple fixer for a replacement Apple battery as $85.  Not to bad. All I really wanted was for my phone to last 10 months until the new iphones come out.

Todays update has fixed my issues. Also I like that I can turn off Memoji's
