Thanks ..

I was just reading it over in the unlockit thread.

If it was in a previous update how come it was still working on Friday (NZ Time) - I wasn't able to access the internet without the unlockit profile up till Friday local time.

Hence the reason I was under the impression it was because of this 2.1 update that made the change.

Hmm.. need to look it up..

It'll be expensive because when I'm not in Wifi coverage and check either my calendar or email it's going to start using data... argh annoying ..

Updated my 1st gen QuickPwned iPhone directly on iTunes, so far, I'm impressed! It's a whole lot better now.

DonkeyKong: Now my National Bank app won't let me log in because im not on the Newzealand timezone right down to the very second.

Does that mean you cannot use their banking app when you are overseas?  Surely not?

My friend upgraded 1st gen from 1.1.4 to 2.1 and she has no reception
she has itunes 8 tried it dozens of times using pwnage and quickpwn on the mac seemed to work but it has no reception at all..
Tried not using a bcakup and setting up as new phone and still no reception.

anyone got any ideas on what the heck would cause this ..
she says it also has sync errors with some of her music etc.

could be the custom firmware she made was bung.  has she tried re-creating the firmware? or just restoring the phone using it several times?  i'd delete the custom firmware and create a new one from scratch using pwnagetool.

is it possible going from 1.1.4 to 2.1 using only quickpwn that it doesnt do the baseband at all or properly?
I am assuming the baseband is what gives you the reception as my friend has now no reception but everything else works
Any comments ... I wonder what quickpwn does that is different to pwnage ? I am talking about iof you use pwnage in simple mode
I ask as I remember that pwnage asks for the base band files from memory where as quickpwn doesnt... unless they have somehow included the baseband files in quickpwn itself
