alsta: Still no change for Apple order status. There’s definitely something different happening this year I think.

Yeah, mine still "processing" and they haven't taken the money from my card yet.

Would have placed my order around 00:15 or so on the Saturday, so should be fairly high up in the queue.

Ironic really given my experience with 2D on previous years that they seem to be more on top of things this time!

Are you guys getting Apple Care? $379 for two years of unlimited incidents and glass damage with an excess of $49 for screen or $169 for other damage.

Tempted to get that instead of a case!

You get "express replacement" too if you are Ok for them to hold the value of the device on your CC until you return the broken one.

I have always had AC+ on my devices and only used it once, when I dropped my iPad Pro and smashed the screen. Was worth it IMHO - had a new one in my hands about 3 days after logging it.

I have already ordered it with my new phone.

For an iPhone it’s a no brainer. You can add it up to 60 days post purchase.

Assuming you don’t have contents insurance with a low excess, you’re better doing insurance through your telco - at least then you’re covered for loss/theft. Better yet, my credit offers screen replacements though Apple for $50. Will be interesting to see how much it costs to replace the back since it’s meant to be easier (always cost more than a screen replacement too).

Just received my tracking info from One NZ, woohoo!

That's for a 15 Pro 256GB in Natural Titanium. Order went through at 12:04am on pre-order eve/morning.

It is a shame they removed the express replacement from their normal repair service. But I've actually never had any issues to warrant Apple Care+ and the excess on my insurance is rather low too. I've basically saved $1000 from not having it with my last 3 iPhones so $250 for an insurance claim if I do break my iPhone still means I am ahead.

FWIW it’s worth checking not just excess but impact on no claims bonus and following year premium. These days it really seems that small claims with most insurance policies end up needing to be significantly more than double whatever the excess is to warrant be worth claiming.

Zzzz. The ordering experience this year sucked. Locked out until well over 30 minutes after midnight.

Bought black 15 pro max 256 which I wouldn't have thought would be as popular as natural titanium... still 29th-6th October estimate. Crazy.

Hopefully it's a conservative estimate.

My AMI policy allows for 2 claims per year. Saying that, contents insurance is getting pretty expensive nonetheless.

My Apple Store order has just flipped to "preparing to ship".

Still has an estimated delivery date of 26th to 28th.

Apple Store order just flipped to shipped.

DHL shows it left Sydney on Wednesday and was processed early this morning in AKL

You'd have thought the ability for the 15 to travel back in time would have been a key point in the reveal...
