Does anyone know..when you tether on the Iphone can you use the WIFI connection or is it only via 3G network?

The WIFI indicator is on but I just noticed my 3G data plan has dropped dramatically so figure it must be 3G only. I tested this by turning 3G off and it didnt connect so my question now is..."is it possible to use WIFI?"

Nope. at the moment its not possible.. Its 3G tethering only.. (until someone works out how). They have 1/2 worked out how to tether via the Original iPhone EDGE so anything is possible...

SilentOne: Anyone been able to get the iPhone and Vista via Bluetooth to play nice - Vista can't find/see a driver for the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device".

Anyone with Vista had success yet?

plug is in.. ignore that error...

Go to Network and Sharing Center. Click manage network connections. You will see a bluetooth network connections showing disconnected. Right click on it and then select connect. Voila, you will have you connection!

EDIT: Working now.

  • Reinstalled/updated bluetooth drivers

  • Deleted and re-paired Laptop and iPhone

  • Ensured tethering via Bluetooth was enabled on the iPhone

  • Connected to the PAN on Laptop (Network Connections panel)

Most likely it was the Bluetooth drivers, they weren't the latest from HP although they were dated as of last year.
