Has anyone managed to get a tethered connection running yet, either via bluetooth or USB?

Thanks. I should add that I'm using a MAC and when I plug the USB cable in, it set's up as an ethernet connection but I'm not sure of what settings to use. According to the Apple website, you should be able to simply select "iphone".

The APN was something like iphone.vodafone.net.nz (should have written that down) - when I tried changing it to simply www.vodafone.net.nz, all the options for tethering and MMS on the phone disappeared..

Can the .ipcc file be restored?

no need to restore....  just reset the network setting. the option will be back. just remember dont change the APN for now. otherwise it will disappear again on you.

the iphone APN is www.iphone-vodafone.net.nz (but just changing back to this will not bring back the tethering option.)

anyone know how to fix this?

Whats the significance of the "iphone" APN - does it slow data or something?

the iPhone has options of multiple APN's. If you check the official IPCC you will see that the tethering APN = www.vodafone.net.nz

BUT.. if you are not on an Iphone Plan and change the Data APN to www.vodafone.net.nz the tethering option will disapear.. ARG (which I found out myself). Its a feature..!!! :-)

So how to FIX?

Well you need to update to an alternative non official Vodafone IPCC file. I think its how it just it..
I have one which tested and works fine...

Thanks LennonNZ.

Any idea where I'd find the alternative IPCC file and how to install? I am not on an iphone plan - I am on a mega plan with a 200mb/month data plan added.
