sidders80: How many went from 64gb to 128gb? I got the 64 last year and still have 27GB left however was thinking should I have gone for 128gb given 4K and live photos and all that?

Yeah, I got talked into going up to 128GB, and I think it was the right choice. I intend to take a lot of photos and put a lot more music on it.

Had a bit of a nightmare setting the new phone up. I backed up my 5 to my computer, swapped the SIM over, then restored the 6S from the computer backup. It tried to sync every app I'd ever downloaded - I had 8 screens of extra apps on there, ready to download. I stopped the sync and started the restore again with the same result. The restore finished and half the apps that were supposed to be on there were still pending download; they didn't load from iTunes. So now I am waiting from them all to download over wireless. I'm going to have to log into everything again. I don't recall having this trouble last time. No idea why it didn't just replicate my 5 straight onto the 6S. Oh well.

Thank you for that. I think I might just return it to Apple and get a 128GB.

The thing that swung it for me is that they're not expandable later.

Interesting feedback on the restore experience there @littleheaven. Mine was the complete opposite, easiest and fastest restore I've ever had. Took about 14 minutes total including updrading to iOS 9.0.1

Despite the greater screen real estate vs my old 5S, I have a bit of eye strain this evening from overuse of my new phone today. My poor optic nerves have earned their rest tonight!!

Lucky you! I'm still waiting for apps to sync/load. Once they do all should be good. All my contacts and photos synced okay.

I was fortunate to have my phone arrive at 8:30 AM yesterday, as I spent a good couple of hours being escalated through Apple Tech Support over a Siri bug.
I was the front-line rep's first everr 6s Plus tech support call.
It'll require a software update for them to fix but the interest they took in the issue was outstanding.

zocster: How's your first day folks?

Really good! Have had a good play with a lot of the features, bar a decent trial of 4K video which I'll do later today. The thing is CRAZY FAST at loading web content and apps, literally a second or so to load uncached pages and near instantaneous for ones that are already in my history.

Have to say though, regarding Live Photos - so far I'm not sold on them... I can only really see them as a gimmick at this point but perhaps they'll grow on me... I had visions of a Harry Potter style viewing experience of them (y'know, how the pictures move) but it feels kinda clumsy both taking and viewing them at the moment...

Overall though, I'm VERY impressed with the whole package. Really need to get my hands on an interim case while I wait for my Pad & Quill and Verus cases to arrive from the US - I'm absolutely packing my pants that I'm going to drop it...

What was the Siri bug you experienced?

If you connect anything to the headphone jack that does not include a microphone, such as regular headphones or a patch cable for an audio mixer, Siri doesn't work.

The iPhone is usually smart enough to continue to use the built-in microphone when a headphone accessory doesn't provide one. This continues to work for phone calls, but not for Siri and dictation.

The work-around is to set up "Hey Siri", without such a device connected to the headphone jack.

As long as you leave "Hey Siri" enabled, it's OK.

The bug is partially fixed in iOS 9.1 beta 2.

Live photos are pretty damn awesome for me.

I'm totally blind, and Apple has done a very good job of providing feedback about what's in the camera view for the last few iOS releases. But after you've taken the photo, it can be hard for a blind person to identify one photo from another. If you put some meaningful audio in your live photo, problem solved.

Wow!!! I had never thought of it's application in that context - how bloody awesome is that?!?! To be fair, I haven't really given Live Photos anything of a chance in real-world scenarios and I'm very open to the format becoming my new norm - I'll give it a good spin over the weekend when I'm with family/friends and see what kind of results I get.

I finally got mine sorted around 1.30am, lol. Went into the device in iTunes, selected and deselected all the relevant apps - no idea how half of them got there from the backup of my 5 - resynced the phone (still got a few unwanted ones in the process) and then did some final tweaking and it was all done.

Haven't had much chance to play yet but I like the peek/pop in mail. I can see that being super handy. The videos and photos will get a good workout over the next couple of weeks. And yes, it's fast! The touch ID is so quick. I still can't get used to using that to unlock. I used a different finger than the one I normally press the home button with so that if I just tap to check the home screen clock, I don't skip right past.

Touch ID is ridiculously quick. I used to press the home button with my thumb just to wake the phone up so I could tell the time, now it basically just launches straight to the home screen! I think they're trying to tell me I need an Apple Watch for telling the time now ;-)

3D Touch is a really cool workflow improvement. Speeds most tasks up, makes them simpler.

"Hey Siri" is cool, but I wonder how accurate the voice matching is so others don't set it off... Glad it doesn't work when in your pocket! I'd love to see the Raise to Speak feature activate Siri again however. They changed it to record voice iMessages with iOS8 and that was a step back for me. Who uses that voice message thing anyway!? They must have metrics on it that it's popular, but I used to really enjoy putting the phone to my ear and creating a reminder, or sending a txt 'in private' rather than having an open world conversation with my phone. Would love to see that option back.

Overall though, coming from the 5S, there's a heck of lot to like.
