I hope this is not true..
Handle9: Not NZ seeing it got ordered on the 27th...
Benjip: Surely you're not implying that those ordering two or more phones get priority?

Actually, mine also says ordered on the 27th, when I ordered it just after 1am on the 28th. So the store seems to be using the date in the US at the time the order was placed. Mine still says 3-4 weeks, though. Man, I must have missed the shorter shipping period by a matter of two or three minutes. *sigh*
Yogi02:Be happy that there will be a 3-4 week wait for us. Gives Apple a chance to sort out some hardware manufacturing issues with the phone including case problems with fitting and build quality. Other issues that have popped up seem to include battery and touch screen issues arising from earth leaks?
This thread on the apple forum has gone 30 or so pages but hopefully it is isolated to the initial delivery release.

Dingbatt: Sorry to divert the discussion from the angst associated with when the phone orders will arrive.
I got to have a play with a black iPhone 5 and must say it is a thing of beauty. Purely from aesthetics, the handset and screen are quite alluring, and the whole feel quite light and dainty without actually being at all flimsy. It's kind of a shame it will be covered up and bulked out by covers.
And this from a long time Android user and currently an HTC One X owner.

Great
And since you have a One X, how much on screen time do you get out of a full charge?

I just checked and it is still 3-4 weeks when ordering in the Apple NZ site.... Where was this screen shot from?

Not enough.
TBH I don't pay much attention to my screen time. Desk charger, car charger and portable battery pack mean I am yet to run out of juice. Use it as a phone - 2 days, use it as a pocketable computer - about 0.5 days. Usage somewhere between means an overnight recharge each night suffices.
Not sure if your inquiry is genuine, or if you are pointing to the likelihood that the iP5 will have superior battery life because of tight hardware/software integration. It was a friend who has worked for Apple for quite a while and has had all the iPhones since the original that advised me about having plenty of chargers etc.
I guess the point I was making was that having devices from 'the other camp' doesn't prevent me from admiring a fine piece of design in the iPhone 5.
