Jesus this new Touch ID seems to be getting faster or I'm just going crazy. It was fast when I first set it up but now its loading the home screen as soon as I push the home button to wake it up from sleep.

Side note, is Siri not meant to make that noise anymore when you activate it?

JPNZ:
Pulinski: I have come from an iPad Mini and a Nexus 5.

Is there any way of swiping between apps on the iPhone 6S Plus like you can on the iPad?

Love the touch ID and the always on Siri.

Double click the home button and you should find all open apps cascade right to left.

You can also swipe upwards to manually close the apps

Additionally, you can now use a 3D Touch deep press on the left-hand edge of the screen to peek out to your other active windows and then swipe right to switch between them as this activates an active app carousel. You can then similarly swipe a window upwards to close it or simply select one from the carousel to bring it to the front.

Hmmmmm. The Twitter app was updated to support 3D Touch, but I don't get the options on the home screen even though I have installed the updated version...

I've tried to fool touch id by pressing with a finger it doesn't recognise, so the screen wakes up due to touch id failing, then quickly tapping the home button for a fraction of a second (with a recognised finger) but it still unlocks.. super fast.

They removed that Siri noise yes, good imo.

Have you opened it since its been updated? I read on the macrumours forums you have to do that before 3d touch activates on the updated app

Cool...this works great.

Thanks.

JEDENZED: Can anyone give suggestions on the best way to display the 4K video on my 4K tv? Presumably streaming methods (like mirroring) will cause degeneration in quality either through Apple TV not supporting 4K or just simply through network/device transfer lag. Short of using some sort of HDMI out cable (which I don't own) would somehow copying a video to a USB 3.0 stick and plugging it directly into the TV give me the most accurate transfer? What's the best way to get the video files onto a usb stick?

Still hoping for suggestions on this query. I copied the file from my phone to a usb stick but my brand new Panasonic 4K "smart" TV doesn't even show the file in it's directory so obviously the native Apple format isn't supported...

What's the bloody point in shooting 4K video AND having a 4K TV if I still can't view the content...?!?

Does your TV support YouTube in 4k?

I dont have a 4k tv, but the only way I have found of sharing the file in 4K so far has been via YouTube. And you must upload via iMovie set to 4K (native 'send to youtube' and the 'YouTube Capture' app don't appear to support uploading in 4k).

Yes it does and I have viewed 4K video via YouTube before. Issue is though, the quality of the video is subject to network conditions, Internet connection etc... I want to view the raw files captured on the phone and effectively plugged directly into the tv...

The other problem with uploading 4k to you tube, is if you edit it,eg. add music, it will down convert it to 1080p. So youtube need to do a bit of catching up with technology.

Hmmm, I'm starting to rethink what I might want to buy.

My iPhone, iPad and Macbook Pro are all aging and will need replacement in the next six months or so. Originally I was planning to buy an iPhone 6S, a 13" retina Macbook Pro, and the next generation iPad Air when it is eventually released. However, now I'm thinking that I might buy an iPhone 6S+, 13" retina Macbook Pro, and forgo the iPad. I'm keen to save a bit of money, and I feel like two devices should be enough for my purposes.

For those of you with a 6+ or 6S+, do you ever find yourself wishing you had an iPad as well?

i got a 6 plus last year and also have an iPad air. There are times that I use my iPad as there are things that I prefer to do on iPad. Personally for me I don't think the phablets replace tablets completely.

Just noticed something changed with Airprint.

Previously I wasn't able to choose to print in Black and White, only Colour.   I'm now able to choose Colour or Black and White and also double siding (although I think Double Siding was available before).

Not sure if this is an ios 9 change or only available on the new iPhone 6s.

Nice!

Cheers,
Grant

I only have a 6S but I can't imagine doing much of what I do on my iPad Air on a smaller screen. Websites are barely big enough on the iPad, and some of the games need the extra size. Books are better at that size too. Mind you, my Mac has a 30" Cinema Display (yes, it's that old) so I'm used to a lot of screen space.

I have the 6+ and Ipad Air2, when I got the 6+ my Ipad usage went down dramatically, but I still use it 2-5 times a week. That said if I had a smaller laptop that booted really quickly that could replace the Ipad.... Hmmmm maybe the next upgrade to my ipad could be a MacBook Air...
