So comparing the Xs to last years X:
Am I missing something, or is that it?
JEDENZED:Dial111: New iPhone prices are out.
iPhone X-S
64gb $1899
256gb $2199
512gb $2599
Wow! The iPhone X-S Max has some eye watering prices.
64gb $2099
256gb $2399
512gb $2799
The el cheapo iPhone X-R
64gb $1399
128gb $1499
256gb $1699
Eye-watering prices is right!!! Nearly $3k for the top model... Apple clearly knows that we have more money than sense!
Can’t help but think that the 6.1 inch iPhone Xr 128gb model at $1499 represents the best value by far
Apple Watch series 4 pricing is $699 for the new format, smaller 40mm screen and $749 for the larger 44mm version. Series 3 drops in price to $479 for the older format 38mm screen and $529 for the 42mm version.
Insane prices, can buy a phone and a laptop for some of those prices.
It is an "S" after all, so minor spec bumps, sligtly better battery life, better camera and faster face ID
Assuming that Spark or Vodafone make Apple Watch LTE version possible in the next few years (big assumption maybe?), would it be possible to buy an LTE version from Australia and use it now in NZ (without any LTE functionality of course) then once it becomes available here, would the Aust purchased watch work with Spark/ Vodafone LTE?
Orders start on the 14th so does that mean 1 minute past midnight tonight?

7.01pm NZT tomorrow through Apple.
Wonder when the telcos will put up pre-orders
FYI - there have been some serious changes to 4G bands in Apple's lineup this year. The iPhone Xs/Xs Max models sold in the US, China, and Hong Kong do not support 4G band 28. Folks looking to import and save a few bucks should be aware of this.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Thanks for pointing this out.
The iPhone XS Max 256GB is hundreds cheaper if I was to buy in the states... Tempting since I have a friend going to the states next month, but will avoid in this case.

Not sure if this is a misprint but the tech specs are missing band 28 on the NZ Apple Store website
Thankfully, under https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/#iphone-xs
It lists the correct model number for NZ, which does have band 28, crisis averted.

Only if you don't declare it for GST coming back to NZ (plus your friend is going to a State with no/low sales taxes)
US price max 256= $1249 add 6% sales tax giver 1324, @65c NZD you have 2036 + GST =2342 .. NZ price 2399

Voda had $500 off at one point for the X.
Was it as much as $500? I think that this was potentially more in anticipation of the X being discontinued perhaps?
It was, in Jan/Feb this year.... I only remember because it happened so quickly after the launch which I found interesting. 2Degrees couldnt match it when I spoke to them, which is a shame. Admitedly with the plan of the moment at that time, which was $79 I think.
Just last month 2D was running a $300 offer on the 8 range for their $55 plan and above.
As for when do these prices become silly, well that happened last year with the X launch in my view. I thought this years updates very average tbh, but the heart monitoring/ECG on the Apple Watch series is very impressive... FDA approved, if the NZ Ministry of Health were to quickly adopt this would be a really helpful improvement for the efficiency of the heart units around the country, taking out unnecessary monitoring appointments and freeing up resource. Now THAT was interesting.

Just looked at the price of the watches $699 and $749
Anyone want to buy a used kidney?

Ah yes, I keep forgetting the $700 limit. then yes, that makes it a coin toss.
The only exception to the sales tax in US I suppose is if you buy through DFS/claim it back, correct? But I don't think Apple have stores in DFS.
