If I was spending $900 I'd spend $1049 to have the latest offering. However with $649 for the 4S we could see a $50 increase across the range.

As it stands I will wait for a bigger screen Iphone, but until they can make an Iphone as thin and light as a 5 with retina quality display or better we may not see this.

Same. This is a 'tock' year as it is a 's' device. Next year is a 'tick' year, so we should see a case change with the iphone 6, which is an opputunity to change the screen size again, and possibly two different screen sizes.

Great explanation and terminology!

"bah, get an android.... you will find the features you want with at least 3-4 handset makers and a cheaper price".

Thanks, over and out.

I went from using an iphone for years to an android. With all the hype concerning the 5C/S I still see it as just a device however its the hype that makes people want it more..new device..follow the flock.

I don't think I will go back to Apple. I find the IOS easier to navigate than android which I'm still getting my head around but its all relevant. They both do the same thing. both smartphones.

As for the pricing, I have also heard the C version is for the Chinese and Indian markets but the proof will be in the pudding when released. S =Same in my eyes. Nothing new or innovative here Apple. Other than the camera specs, nothing would sway me to go back.

I have to disagree with you on the 5S part. All of the "S" editions are usually just internal upgrades. And that's exactly what Apple has done. A much faster CPU, a secondary unit for processing all the movement data, etc.

Although to the "average" person it isn't much of a step up (as expected), it still is a substantially stronger phone.

I think people were expecting perhaps a more visual change. Yes, the internal processor may be more of a selling point in some ways. Features a pretty snappy camera and video option but take away the fact there is still no expendable memory other than the standard 16, 32 and 64gb still leaves me wishing there would be an option to expand the memory rather than relying on cloud services for storage...

Also seen the changes to the new IOS interface. Will take some hardcore apple fans some time to get used to the new design. Get ready for a busy day tomorrow when IOS7 is launched.

Apple will not do expandable storage in the near future. That would ruin their entire product range and pricing system.

(Of course it's something we all want though).

Of course not. Free to dream and wish.

Changed my plan with telecom today and they told me that the 5c & 5s will be available in a month or so... Read into it what you like but could be positive for an earlier than December release

Wonder how many people rush out to get one. I've seen Iphones sold on 1-day before when they are apparently
'unlocked' but after updates have reverted to locked state.

If they are unopened they'll be legit unlocked ones from Apple. It's about a $300 mark up on what you'd pay to purchase and ship one in yourself.

If I were  purchasing one, would not be from 1-day and I would rather pay the $100 more for better support from a network. I still can't get over the pricing for the 'cheaper' model which I thought were only going to be sold in china and india originally.

No it's actually only just over $100 markup, if it's coming from OZ that is, they are $739AU there for the base model which equates to around $835NZ

Regardless I bet you they sell quite a few considering they have not even been released here yet.
