Does JB Hifi know something? They are listing LTE versions on their website now (as of 5 hours ago) https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/health-fitness-wearables/apple-watch/

not seeing it - did you get a screenshot?

Series 3?

No sign of cellular version of the Apple watch on Apple.co.nz, and probably no esim support in NZ yet. So you would probably have a cellular watch that wouldn't do cellular with those.

it's just a bit surprising that an NZ Apple Reseller would be selling a product not supported in NZ yet. So just wondering if they know of an impending launch.

I suspect they know but jumped the shark on posting. I saw it too.

Apple tell resellers squat on new product releases,

Its more likely a mistaken page with info crossposted from their .au website where you can buy one...

( happy to be proven wrong thou :)

I worked for Apple for 3 years in the UK. This isn’t a new release - it would just be new availability. Very different.

From a JB point of view it would be a new release.

Retailers, carriers will know a few days in advance, but it is typically embargoed.

Should launch officially before Christmas. Looks like JB jumped the gun a bit here (hence why it's pulled from their website now). You'll notice that it was not a mistake listing AU stock as the legal notice at the bottom had NZ URLs and text.

Do you have a source that provided you that information? Or is it a hopeful guess?

So this means we could potentially start getting the Stainless Apple Watches back in NZ?

I've enjoyed the lightness of the Alu Series 4, but I really miss the look/feel of my series 2 S/S

I've just updated my S0 42mm SS Apple Watch to a Series 4 44mm SS one. Both were 2nd hand off Trademe and both originally purchased in Aussie.

I bought the first one to do app development work but after I started wearing it I couldn't give it up. I'd be lost without it now.

God it was slow [the S0] but, and this is the reason for me jumping in here on this thread, the stainless steel watches are tough.

The S0 still looks as good as new and it has been through a lot. I live on a 10 acre life style block and I wear it working outside. So it has had its bumps, knocks and scratches.

The 2nd hand ALU watches on trademe, even the ones that are supposedly 6 months old, look really rough. There's always the occasional smashed screen ones too.

I've been checking this thread in stealth mode for a while because I want LTE data on my watch so I can finally be free from the phone if I want to. I'm looking for any news on the ECG approval for NZ? It looks like it is, like Apple Pay, geo-fenced for setting up. My Apple account is a UK one and it is available there. I doubt it is linked to the serial number and hardware, correct me if I'm wrong.
