James Bond:
ChrnoXIII: well i just went out in dunedin to check the Student IT, first mobile store (meridian), and the vodafone retail store (wall st). last one was inaccessible unfortunately...

but no promotional material unfortunately.... disappointing.

you guys think vodafone will offer a discount like they did to people who pre-registered for iphone last year?

edit: btw i think im staying up tonight...

How much was the discount?

$100 credit. Still had to pay $699 upfront for the iPhone 40 plan.

DrCheese: Something must be happening over at vodafone. Earlier today I noticed that the sidebar on the left side of their web page at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/iphone/ had "iPhone 4" as a heading. It later changed to just "iPhone".

Yeah if you read the first 30 pages or so of the thread Laughing all reference to the iphone 4 was removed around the time rumours started leaking that vodafone were NOT going to have the iphone 4 at launch.

I'd worry about actually finding one to purchase first, no one knows if the iphone 4 is still going to launch in the morning or who will be selling it if it does.

Vodafone sure can't have pissed off Apple by leaking information, the only thing they've done is not say a damn thing!

Given the unexplained disappearance of the pre-registration box and the complete lack of any communication to those who did provide their details, I would suggest (at a stretch mind you!) such credits are unlikely to exist this time round.

Student IT is owned by the same people as Magnum Mac, so logic would stand, if one of them had them, both would have them. The rate we are going though, I'm leaning towards neither having them.

Certainly doesn’t look like there will be a midnight retail store launch tonight anyway.

Yes. They sent it out in July 2009. No credit has been offered for the iPhone 4 (yet).
