@Owen I guest I shouldn't cry any time would be to late for me, and at lease with my job I get to play around with customers units. In fact the other day I had a customer that had a really nice case I asked where he got it and he said Hong Kong, later on in the day he came back and gave it to me for helping him with his phones over the last few years. I was stoked!

@allan I really wished I jumped on that when I saw it, hope you enjoy it mate I get back on the second so I have mine then.

Which brings me to another point, lithium batteries no memory we know that but do we charge or use out of the box on the apple webpage people's opinions are mixed, apple don't really say either way?

One of my staff members went into Vodafone Albany on the weekend and got a 32GB Black over the counter on the $45 plan. I've had a hold of it this morning. So thin and light!

cooper1979:
rainet: I ordered a black 64GB from Apple's online store 6:30am on the morning of availability. Still showing shipping in 3-4 weeks and delivery between 29th of this month and 2nd of next.

From reading various forums over the last few years I am under the impression that iPhone warranty claims can sometimes be quite a headache when purchased through a reseller. I'm sticking to my Apple Store order in hope that should a warranty situation come about I will be well looked after.

Does anyone have any experience with iPhone warranty claims?

I will recommend contact apple directly if you have any problem with your iphone. (doesn't matter if you purchased from apple or a reseller).

I have not had a problem with any of the warranty claims I have made thru Vodafone, very quick turn around times. Take phone in, wait a few days new (refurb) phone sent out.

Lucky thing! Mine is still in the queue at the Vodafone warehouse. I ordered at 4pm. Must be luck of the draw!

Ordered my 32 GB black a few mins when it was available. Still shows the same 3-4 weeks.
My impulsive buying mode is wearing off ..... feeling like cancelling my order.
Either keep using my 4 or ... Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is looking better each passing day.

It's amazing how many iPhone users have said they're making the switch to the Note II. Every thread and review I've read about the Note II has a comment section full of people saying they're gonna make the switch!

Do it man, do it.

Sorry, a bit off topic, I know.

Been lurking this thread for a couple of days now, thought I'd sign up to comment.

I ordered two white 16gb's at 12:30am on release day and my shipping has said 29/10/12-2/11/12 ever since.

Really hoping it ships this week.

The time I ordered was around 8am in 28th sept, my date is also 29.10 - 2.11, strange how some of the dates are different. I ordered a 16 g white phone.

I can only imagine it has to do with varying supplies of the different models.

I talked to apple about why my date has been bumped got nothing really lol, but I did find out orders from apple.com/nz ship from Australia rather then china so should only take a couple of days depending on where you live.

Just contacted Apple re: shipping times and they said before the start of next month, which is basically 6 weeks after most of us have ordered (Sep 28).

They also said mine could take longer as black iPhones have a lot more demand.... my order was for a white one though, so guess they're just giving an automated response to everyone who enquires, lol.

Edit: @Strongbad, my brother ordered an iPhone 4S and it arrived in less than 24 hours from Aussie - TNT are a very fast courier company.
