Pwned: The battery life on my iPhone 4 is shorter on iOS6, I used to get at least 2 days on 5.1.1 but after the update last night the battery only lasted a few hours and it's drained when I woke up this morning. Wish I never updated to this version. Oh Apple...

To fix fast draining battery click settings , general , cellular , scroll down to "use cellular for: turn all off.
battery life should be better than ios5 :)

I have noticed that battery life has been worse on my ipad 2 since ios6, and I always have cellular and wifi off unless I am needing it. The 3d maps also uses a lot of battery power.

I can't find a way to change directions in maps from say car to on foot unless I cancel out of the whole routing process and start again!

There may be one, but it seems very well hidden if there is.

People complaining about iOS Maps should use Bing App instead.

I am going to hide now...

Although as with any free app, it is fairly easy to create a itunes account linked to the US store to load the app on your device,

The thing that bothers me most about Apple is having to switch accounts all the time because the stuff I want isn't in the NZ store. Just wish it was open slather. Of course other stores have the same problem. Just saying.

Just downloaded the GrabOne app update, supposedly now supports Passbook.

edit - Yep, just put my Big Boys Toys tickets that I bought on GrabOne into Passbook... Hopefully this means other offers will follow suit.

I wonder if iOS 6 is going to fail at daylight saving time settings (alarms, calendar) this weekend as in all previous releases...

Very true.

It means you have to find somewhere to get US iTunes cards reliably and safely, which I have not yet.

I use this place, no dramas so far and have bought from them a number of times: http://itunesdirect.com.au/

Maps.... Apple iOS 6 Maps are so notoriously bad that Apple has now issued an apology:

To our customers,

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.

We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.

There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.

While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.

Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.

Tim Cook
Apple’s CEO

Wow - since Apple rarely even comment on anything negative, for them to actually apologise is pretty indicative of the mess...!

Just by way of info, I was in Wellington on Thursday and was told twice by Maps that where I was standing on Lambton Quay was an "Unknown location"!

I found the turn by turn (unspoken as on iPhone 4) confusing and not keeping up in real time with my actual movement on the ground, too. I was only walking.
