I have that free case program app installed but I'm not waiting 4-6 weeks to have a case for the phone.

I wouldn't recommend waiting around - Get a case now and sell your free case when you get it. I'm using the Speck Pixelskin HD, it's quite nice but it hides the beauty of the phone since it isn't clear. I did order the Incase snap clear case from the free app.

Can't wait for the jailbreak to come out. For both the iPad and iPhone Smile

There is a JB for the iPad, well as long as you didn't update to 3.2.1 when you first plugged it in? I had mine JB'd withing 5 mins of getting the ipad.

Yeah I did jailbreak when I got it first thing I did... Then it froze and I had to do restore but accidentally did it to 3.2.1 so that sucks lol

Just went into a store to check out a demo on display. The screen is amazing! You really can notice the difference. The back can be a bit of a finger print magnet though. Everything else is very similar to the 3GS.

LOL when I first read this I thought you were referring to iPhone 4 JB and then applying 3.2.1 :D

The screen is that sharp it does not look real.
When on the counter on the spring board, it looks like someone has stuck a high-res glossy image on a dummy phone, you need to take a second look.

Browsing though your photo albums really makes a difference and was better than I had anticipated.
The front facing camera has too much detail... especially when having to look at this ugly mug.

Camera Flash is gimmicky and on the couple of images it was used, it was not of any use.

Having migrated from a 3G on 4.0.1 this is lightning quick to use and the speed to swap between apps in multitask is quick.  Having used the 3GS it is also quicker than the 3GS.

The outer frame/antenna is a little slippery in hand so can imagine there will be complaints of dropped/thrown phones.

Wifi speeds much quicker and VF 3G upload speeds now a lot faster - Upload 1612kbps (download 1472kbps)

Antenna gate real, but not dropped calls, then again no matter what phone we have at our house as soon as pick up of desk you lose signal (and we are close to signal tower)

Early days yet

Anyone picked up a screen protector?

I have a gelaskin case but it doesn't come with a screen cover. I really liked the fit and finish of the iphone itself but man fingerprints just overwhelm it. If it could stay the way it looked in the box I wouldn't put it in a case. As it is my gelaskin feels and looks quite nice and I will probably stick with it until I get stick of looking at it.

Things that stand out to me on the phone so far:

• Speed: this thing is damn fast, especially with multitasking - things are pretty much instantaneous. Being able to jump to the home screen to check something in Ninjawords or whatever while composing a message in Safari without fear of forcing a page reload is killer.

• Camera: impressive. Took some quick footage of a penguin at the beach today and it looks great.

• Display: the high resolution makes a huge difference for reading. Text in Safari or Twitter (née Tweetie) looks particularly awesome compared to older iPhones and iPod Touches.

You got an iPhone 4. Now what? You show your friends in awe and describe how you are one of the elite few to get one!!

So stoked considering next shipment is 3 weeks away...

Got a case-mate gelli case which is clear and covers the back and sides and has a little lip to hold it over the front edges. Reasonable quality, came with a screen protector and did a 100% job so you can hardly see it.
Only thing is it was from Vodafone and cost $40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Insanely expensive for what it is, but have to have a case in the meantime and didn't want to wait on one from trademe.

Has anyone tried iSkySoft's DVD to iPhone converter? Currently they are giving it away for free (RRP USD29) if you like their Facebook page - but of course, you can always remove it after you get the code.

Wondering how this compares to Handbrake? Also does it support the latest screen resolution?

Sorry this might be slightly off topic but though new iPhone 4 owners might want to comment.
