Is the size identical? Button placements?  I have a book type case (whatever they call it)

tdgeek:

MikeB4: $1829 for the top 7 plus is a big chunk of cash for a phone. Lots of good laptops and tablets less than that.

You can buy an ok car for that, but a phone doesn't need a garage, so what a bargain!

For shiny new things I can nearly always find a justification, but $1829 for a phone, I struggle with that.

Me too. Its like re buying the same article. On this one the camera looks very good, but even so, better to keep the phone and buy a $1000 point and shoot.

Now if the wife wanted us to rebuy our fancy $1600 washiing machine every year, we would go bonkers. But that is exactly what many do

or sell old iPhone for $1000ish and upgrade for $639 a year, take a rebate every 2 years. $39 one year then $639 the other.

Also don't compare the most expensive model as that is not really relevant.

If you don't want that then buy one with less storage or a smaller screen.

The biggest dilemma with buying the 7 is that next year's phone is touted as being a major 10th anniversary redesign not a 'S' update, those on an annual update cycle wont care but those that buy on a 24mth cycle will probably benefit more by holding out another year

I have a 6S+ so I won't be buying the 7, but the water resistance and dual cameras will be appealing in addition to whatever else they add next year.

I am, however, very interested in the second generation watch. Lack of proper waterproofing and lack of GPS were the reasons why I didn't buy the first generation, because I am a half marathon enthusiast and having to carry my phone in order to measure distance was a deal breaker.

It's also good to see the first signs of Apple Pay on the horizon. I won't be opening any accounts with ANZ, but I'm sure there will be pressure for the other banks to come on board.

My approach to purchasing an iPhone is to skip the new model for each generation and instead go for the one with an "s" the year after

Hence for me it's 3Gs, 4S, 5S and 6Plus S; and now I'm waiting for 7Plus S next year...

Any idea what price NZD is the 128G 7?
Went into the Apple Store earlier, $749 USD , which should be around
$1k NZD atm
Also , has anyone been to the new San Francisco store?
Huge double glass doors that open almost 3 stories high, impressive.
