well obviously, its not as nice as the original glass but i have "forgotten" how the glass feels because i put the zagg on after only a few hours of "naked" use. but i have heard that the degree of stickiness is also due to whether you let it cure properly + how you apply it. i left it for a good 13-15hours before i used it.

i was worried at first because everyone at macrumours hates zagg with a passion, but it has turned out alright for me :)

ChrnoXIII: oh yea, as i been using it for longer and longer, i have noticed weird problems...

first - when inputting birthdays into your contacts on the iphone, the date is out of sync by 1day and when it shows up on the calendar, it screws up as well damn...

Check the timezones on iPhone, MobileMe, your PC/Mac, Exchange server. Possibly one is out.. and the birthday (as allday event in outlook) is now 2am to 2am the following day or something like that (10pm to 10pm).

secondly - iphone seems there is a difference between 6421xxxxx and 021xxx... minor perhaps but annoying when the messages dont thread up nicely.

Odd. is that for numbers that are not in your address book?
used to be an issue with the extra long NZ prepaid numbers, but thought that was fixed.

thirdly - when syncing contacts thru to microsoft outlook, the contacts in outlook dont contain more than 2 numbers. e.g. i have 3 number (021, 027, 022, yes i know i dont need 3, but whatever, bear with me here) it does not all sync thru...

check if this is an outlook sync configuration setting.
I am using MobileMe and also connected to Exchange servers. Some address book entries have 7 numbers and all are coming though.

no my friend noticed it when i texted her iphone using vodafone's free2txt service. the number voda attaches to the txt is a 6421xxxx one.

check if this is an outlook sync configuration setting.
I am using MobileMe and also connected to Exchange servers. Some address book entries have 7 numbers and all are coming though.

i checked online and apparently its how iphone handles the numbers. in short, there wont be a fix soon... i'll have to deal with it if im using outlook

okay, my mail + calendar is synced with google sync thru push.
contacts are through outlook.

i set dad's birthday to 19th july. it shows up on calendar as 17th july... weird.
whats more the roulette thing u choose the date on the iphone is off as well.

i checkd the timezone on google calendars, iphone time+date, exchange server time+date and they are all the same - auckland, NZ

Having the same issue, only with stuff synced via MobileMe. Had this issue on iPhone 3G after updating to iOS 4.0, still having it in iOS 4.1 beta 2 on iPhone 4. I finally gave up on it, because I have separate birthday event entries in iCal for all my really important people anyhow.

check your time zone settings - set it to on so it always displays at the event's local time instead of your current location

Cheers. Looks like a good fit. Just curious, do you have the antenna issue? And did this help with it at all?

Having had my iPhone 4 for a few days now, I can say that the #1 item on my 'wow' factor list is the screen.

From the Home Screen, I can make out (clearly) the individual ABCDEF tabs on the Contacts address book icon. Everything looks so sharp and it truly is a step above (or maybe two steps above) current iPhone screen technology.

The new phone feels snappier too, and games have less 'blurring' as characters move.

I have not been able to replicate the antenna issue but maybe this is because I got a gel case when I bought it.

So overall, a worthy upgrade, but only because of the incredible screen.

Yeah I just had a play with one at the Lambton Quay store. That screen is just incredible... I could read the full version of Stuff fully zoomed out in portrait. I wouldn't want to read it that way, but the fact you could says things for the crazy clarity.

The quailty of the front facing camera is a concern tho... but only due to the face staring back at me in that screen ;-)

Also played with the Nexus One which I was quite excited to see finally. Can't believe you still can't even scroll between screens without small stutters and hiccups. It's just not smooth. Maybe Android 3 and the next gen handsets coming at the end of the year will finally offer a competitive Android UI experience.

Less than a week after jumping through a bunch of insane hoops to even get an iPhone 4, I've had to send mine back for a replacement. The top few millimetres of the back glass were separated from the stainless steel band, leaving a gap big enough for all kinds of dust and pocket crud to get down inside the device. I'm pretty sure the dust affected the iPhone's noise cancelling mic, too, because any time I was on a phone call and not using the speakerphone, I'd hear a rhythmic buzzing coming from that area -- very irritating.

Luckily getting an exchange unit sorted at my local Vodafone store wasn't difficult at all, but I did have to leave my iPhone with them while they send off for a replacement, which should arrive in a few days. It's going to be interesting to see how I deal without having an iPhone for several days, because I'm hopelessly addicted to the stupid thing and use it for everything.

Here's hoping the replacement unit doesn't have even worse issues, like a DOA microphone, camera, screen, logic board, etc., etc., etc.
