I had the same problem :( they wouldn't let me do a resign and then when I said about canceling my contract and then doing a resign got told no I couldn't do that at that time.... thought about just doing a new contract and then canceling it but not worth it in the long run I guess I will just wait

Slightly OT, but here's a gem from the NZ Herald about a person buying the phone this morning:

""If it didn't come out today, it would be coming out soon," said Kumar, who also snapped up the iPad touchscreen PC on its release last week."

Ha!!!

What a fabulous way to make NZ resent the debacle that was a launch her in NZ, even more.

Now that is how you do a launch Vodafone.

Not with signs on the window saying "sorry, no phones today" then telling everyone to come back because they can buy one.

Surely this must be up there with one of the most epic tech launch fails of all time?!

"Not greatly dissimilar to the public jubilation felt at the end of the second World War, Sydneysiders rejoiced at the strike of midnight as phone stores opened for the launch of Apple's iPhone 4."

Australia's rock stars, confetti and canapes vs New Zealands confusion, disappointment and corporate finger pointing.

And they wonder why there is a wage gap Wink

There's currently a queue going out of the door at Vodafone Retail in Colombo Street, Christchurch. I got there at 11.30 (a second attempt at getting one today following a failed attempt this morning at 8am!) and completed the resign paperwork. I then had to wait until exactly 12pm for them to open the cupboard of delights. I estimated 50-60 iPhone 4's in stock. Severe stock limitations apparently NZ-wide. Still, I'm happy and look forward to setting it up tonight... Good luck and lots of patience to you all!

I'll be buying online, but was just in Sylvia Park foodcourt and the Vodafone stand thingy had probably 10 people milling around just after 12pm? So there's a possible option for y'all...
