Jaxson: Is there a viable swipe keyboard option now?  I miss that from my budget android phone as it's a good way to interface with the small iPhone sized screen.

There is both SwiftKey and Swype. SwiftKey is free, and Swype is $1.29. So far I'm finding Swype to be the pick of those two. SwiftKey seems to be a bit naff at learning the corrections I throw at it, whereas Swype copes well there. I also prefer the overall aesthetic of it over the SwiftKey keyboard.

No. But it does seem to have a pretty good prediction engine

Yeah I'm loving Swype. Freaks me out how meandering a finger over half the keyboard it invariably picks the word I want!? I also love being able to reply to txts from the lock screen, or whatever app I'm in when I get a txt. Being able to instantly set up notifications for email replies is also incredibly useful.

Losing the camera roll is a big pita... really don't like that at all.

In terms of how 'big' this update is, I think it comes into its own if you have a Mac. Continuity (that's what the feature is called) will be awesome when we get Yosemite next month. That'll tie everything together really nicely.

I unfortunately paid the $1.29 for swipe....... And it doesn't work, on both the 5s and the iPad mini :-(
Gutted as I loved this keyboard on my old S3

Care to elaborate on the issues you're having? I've got it working on my 5s

Installed it and when I slect it from the globe button on the existing keyboard, the keyboard disappears and I'm left with a blank box.
Happens on both the mini and the 5s.
Ive restarted the devices, deleted and reinstalled and no dice.

Weird. Have you tried contacting Swype for support?

Alternatively this thread may have some useful information.

Anyone here have a 4S and updated to iOS8?   Workmate says it is very slow. Its not here, but it may be a low memory issue rather than slow? Tonight he will hard restart it to get a clean start, if I am correct, it will be ok, then slow down a lot when memory approaches saturation.  Seen a couiple of other forum comments that it was ok.

My 4s seems just the same as before.... Liking the predictions, no slowing of apps, still exploring the rest tbh...

WHUT?

The '4' didn't get this update, and AFAIK the update was about function, not flashy looks?

Ipad2 seemed slow initially but a reboot afterwards seems to see it back to normal.

Good news on the swipe. This does seem to see us up to speed with android 2012 so all good.
