kinetic:
Qdabean: Wasn't that scene in "Bad Taste"?

Opps, My bad, you dead right, it was Bad Taste (same director though.)

The scene I am thinkin is on Return of the Living Dead.

How do you line up for a Vodafone store that is in an enclosed shopping centre with multiple entrances?  This is going to be interesting.  We could have multiple lines at entrance ways to get to one store.  Imagine the ensuing scrum.

Not sure if this is particularly on topic. Optus in AU have released iphone on pre-pay at AUD729 for 8GB and AUD849 for 16GB. + AUD80 unlock fee.

If Vodafone decided to offer a prepay/outright purchase, I can't see them being below NZD850 and NZD1000....

If nothing else, at least unlocked phones can be bought in Australia and brought here...

From what I've heard there'll be 1 flagship Vodafone store per city offering iPhones at 12:01am. Not the low-end mall ones.
Auckland
Wellingtron
Christchurch?

:)

Yeah, if everyone else is hanging out for it as much as I am I hope everyone can get one! :)
Thing is, the stock will be pretty limited (worldwide release) and I recon they'll concentrate on main cities.
Auckland would be a given......then Wellington and Christchurch.
If you were planning a big launch would you do anything differently? :P

What I find staggering (other than Vodafone not having released any information related to plans) is that stores do not even know if they are being allocated stock.

I sure hope that Vodafone has got things right or this has the potential to backfire big time.  With all the build up imagine finding out that due to limited stock that only a few select stores, in a few select cities will be selling iphones on July 11!!!!

Well, I'm in nice and early having avoided the trucks.  Here's hoping that today is the day and Vodafone will announce their pricing plan and release time.  Hopefully not laced with the disappointment of an over priced pricing plan!

Ah we live in hope.  At least the last couple of days banter on this thread has kept me going whilst trudging trough a dull few days at work.

if they dont release the plans today ill be servilely disappointed with vodafone (yet again) This time next week we will be unboxing the god damn things, yet right now we dont know the cost!!!! This has to be the biggest botch up release ever, i cant think of any other device where you didn't know the cost of it a week out from release.. the 360 and ps3 price points were released a good month before they were going on sale (i know they are consoles but the hype surrounding them is on par with the iphone). It really dosn't make any sense to me why they havn't released the pricing yet, are they REALLY still setting the plans and final pricing information, are they REALLY that incompetent? Theres one thing to build hype but sabotaging potential sales is another thing altogether! Rant over.. Hopefully today is the day!! i really do want to get one, just lost a little bit of faith.. maybe they should steal the warriors slogan of a few years back "keep the faith!" quite fitting as they are the major sponsors of the team lol

Oh, you may have misunderstood... by "soon" I meant "soon I'm on holiday and won't be able to see Geekzone or email"...

ah, one more day to go.

Tongue out

As for that other thing... time will tell. time will tell.

Cheers

Paul
