I think you'll find that companies like Xero will milk this opportunity for all it's worth - especially considering there's a Vodafone store across the road from the Xero HQ in Wellington. Xero recently launched their mobile app and would be silly not to try to tap into the hype surrounding the launch - Especially after Rod was interviewed on TV3 news the other week when the 3G iPhone was announced. I don't think there will be mass hysteria, but I do think key stores in the main centers will have queues.

Hi all, yes we're doing some special stuff around the launch and around being first in the world. I'm getting calls from places like London and LA about availability, whether they can buy a suitcase full and that kind of thing.

We're not going to have millions of them so there will be issues around supply ...

And the price will be nice.
