Chur. Interesting that they haven't used any "official" channels to get this stuff through.

I don't really care whether it arrives today or next month, but for damn's sake, if you tell us an incorrect date, correct it!

So I waited from 10am till 2.30pm to get the iP4. What a waste of a day. Vodafone's credit check people were being so very slow hence the reason for the wait. In the end I got the last 32gb iPhone 4 in the store...

Yeah but it was only "news", tomorrow it will be forgotten about, and no one is asking the hard questions about how this shambles arose in the first place.

I think I'm going to wait until next week.

Will they have a new shipment coming? Hard to say I guess.

Also, I find it very odd that VF Westfield Riccarton had no stock allocated. They are probably the busiest stores in the SI.

Can't figure that one out.

You could say that about any news story. "Mainstream" news is weak and they just regurgitate each others stories.

The thing that really amazes me about this thread (and I have read it from start to finish Surprised) is the number of people ranting about getting bad service from Vodafone.

I thought that this is no different to how they normally treat their customers....

If Vodafone have stuffed you around (from the sound of it, by apparently breaching their own T&Cs as regards the re-sign arrangements), don't stick around. Vote with your feet - there are a number of alternate carriers out there now (but if you REALLY want to stick the knife in, you'll move to a carrier that isn't using their network!).

And let them know, in writing, why you're leaving. Make sure it's addressed to Russell Stanners....

I take it that there were no free bumpers with the purchase?
I'm planning to order online as soon as the orders go live, do you think that bumpers will be available for order then, or will I need to wait?

Exactly, and VF know as long as they keep a low profile for the next while that the storm will pass and they'll be back touting themselves as NZ's most reliable network again and how Apple trusted them to launch the iPhone today despite the "supply constraints".

Hopefully Apple will slam them when it comes time for iPhone 5.

I haven't had bad service from vodafone, just..indefferent service. The Vbox thing was a joke, and there were several times they should have notified me about new dataplans etc but they never did.

Key word is "probably". How many people were in the media saying the exact same thing about going to VF when XT was going up and down like a yo-yo? And how many of those people actually followed through and left?

We love to whinge in this country but not many people follow through with their threats.

They're just juicy comments that media love to publish, nothing more. People who are serious about changing just go ahead and do it.
