MrCynical: I haven't had bad service from vodafone, just..indefferent service. The Vbox thing was a joke, and there were several times they should have notified me about new dataplans etc but they never did.

I completely agree. I originally signed for the iPhone $80 before the other two options were available. Then they introduced the $40 and $60 plans and gave customers a small period of time where they could change from more expensive plans for a smaller fee. I got no notification of that deal at all.

I mean, it makes sense right? At least they know how much stock they need to order.

Well, should they do that one week earlier, then it would be like this today, right? BTW like your username :)

Just one more thing, do you know if you currently on iphone plan, after 6 month of use, you can downgrade your current plan to a less expensive one? it took me around a hour to find that info on VFNZ website. GEEE>>

I think it is call redistribution of wealth, on matter who gets the customers, the market as whole. By say how much they have lost, i think we also have to know how many customer they have gained from other networks. there are only few players in the competition any way.

i tried to cancel my contract from vodafone as i want to be on prepay and they said i had to pay $1099 to cancel my contract to own the 16gb iphone and then pay $480 to cancel the contract aswell! total of nearl 1600 after ive allready payed the $620 dollars.

I am talking about net numbers. Vodafone New Zealand lost 25,000 mobile connections, after counting IN and OUT.

According to the end of quarter results posted by Vodafone Group PLC, Vodafone New Zealand had 2,504k mobile connections and at the end of the quarter they had 2,479k. These customers moved to another network or let their prepay connections lapse.

Well my day was ups and sowns. I called VF about 10am and they confirmed they had stock and would be on sale at 12. Jumped in the car, the store was empty bar the Joeys putting up Iphone4 signed. I asked the guy to confirm they had stock and I told him I was number one in the queue. Half an hour later he brought me coffee and a few others joined the queue.
He did the paper wok before 12 and bang on twelve I paid and left with a 32gb phone. Yes on contract, and yes I "might" switrch providers.

Then the bad part. I get this call saying "you have my number". Sure enough my sim had been mixed up with someone else and we had each others numbers. I sugested just meeting somewhere and swapping the sims, but he had alreayd contacted VF and apparently they were sorting it.

So I get a call for VF, they texted me a code, told me to present it at the shop for a free replacement sim with my original number on it and they would credit my account with 100 bucks for the hassle.

Worked out well - but I still hate VF for the lack of communication

You've lost me.

How long did your contract have to run and what plan were you on?

Was your original handset subsidy included in the amount you have to repay?

What was the $620.00 for? The new iPhone? Subsidised price? IN additino to the Early Termination fee and repayment of the original handset subsidy?

I don't see how that can be a negative at all. $100 credit for going back to the shops, now that's a winner!

Agree, funny thing was when I went back to shop and whipped out the new phone and just about got mugged by all the people in the shop being told they sold out - too funny - I felt a little elite - just a little

Thanks... Since they appear to be talking at a company connections level then I'd guess it includes MVN's, which was my original point.
